The Seabird Coast is a popular attraction, home to up to 20,000 migratory seabirds and waders, rich in marine life, and an ideal spot for bird watching, picnics and fishing.

Miranda to Thames is a 25 min drive – lots of restaurants, cafes, sightseeing - Thames Market on a Saturday - very popular with locals. Thames Society of Arts, Thames School of Mines and Mineralogical Museum, Butterfly and Orchid Garden.
A wonderful day trip is through the Karangahake Gorge – either walk or hire electric bikes from Paeroa Sportsworld. This walkway follows the gold rail trail between Paeroa and Waihi.
Paeroa is known as the Antique capital of New Zealand – 30 min drive from Miranda.
In the surrounding area there are numerous art and craft stores/ workshops. Ngatea Art Gallery. Metal Sculpture Gallery, Waitakaruru.
Another day trip could be to Waihi to see Martha’s Gold Mine.
This property is also a great location/ property for a small intimate country wedding. Just hire a free standing marquee, set this upon the lawn in front of the cottage. Plenty of parking spaces in paddock. Great photographic opportunities. Please note: Minimum rate for wedding hire of property is 3 nights.
Special conditions: Smoking OK outside. Pets welcome - please advise us at booking. Plenty of parking for boats, jet skis etc. For stays longer than a week, rates are 'negotiable'. Lots of room for children to play around outside and explore. Kaiua has a children's playground and is known for best fish and chips in NZ. Location is great to explore, Thames, Ngatea, Coromandel, Waihi, Paeroa. Walks, beaches, arts and crafts, birdlife, cafes, antiques, hot pools, Gold mine.

We ranked the property 5 stars. Everything is sparkling and so much variety stuff for drink and food. We really felt we were in 5 stars hotel - home! We were also in love with the area which is very peaceful and different from all other countryside places in Australia, Europe and the US we had been travelling!
