Bach or holiday home | Punakaiki | #39097
This is the perfect location to soak up the atmosphere of the wild West Coast. Ideal for stunning sunsets or watching the spectacle of big west coast waves crashing at your feet - all from the comfort of a warm cosy bach.
Waihaha (meaning 'place of noisy waters') perfectly describes this magical spot - especially during big seas. At low tide enjoy a stroll along miles of sand and pebble beach and if you're lucky you will find pounamu/jade.
Located just 2 kms from Fox River with its caves and bush walks, there is plenty to see and do in the area. The pancake rocks at Punakaiki are just a 15-minute drive south. Westport is 30 minutes north of the bach.
The nearest cell phone reception is at Punakaiki to the south or Charleston to the north (both a 15-minute drive).
Enjoy free unlimited fast internet and Netflix, there is no broadcast TV.
Cleaning and linen are included with your rental. Please just do your dishes, leave the bach clean and tidy - we will do the rest :-)
Free tea, coffee and pantry basics are provided - be my guest.
HELP SAVE THE PENGUINS: A portion of every booking is donated to The West Coast Penguin Trust, $360 has been raised and donated to date this year - the penguins... and the Trust THANK-YOU!

House was very comfortable. One bedroom faced the ocean with the sound of the waves lulling you to sleep. The other faced the highway, which was a bit noisy during the day/morning. There were screens on the windows to keep the pesky sandflies out, but it would be nice if there was a screen on the sliding door, too. (something like this: http://www.rollaway.com/screen_doors.htm)
The location couldn't be beaten. It was mesmerising watching the waves from the Bach at night, and going for a dip in the Tasman in the morning. Perfectly away from it all. The Bach had so much love behind its decor, and the beds were the comfiest I've ever stayed in.
Amazing location, couldn't be more beachfront. It was so great to go to sleep listening to the waves. The Wi-fi over fibre was faster than I get at home, and the TV had built-in Netflix and was great to use. The bach was spotless and had many thoughtful extras left out for our use. Couldn't have been better. Will definitely come back.
