Bach or holiday home | Oamaru | #39318
Miss Barclay's Cottage is a beautifully restored colonial cottage. Built in 1868, the cottage has a romantic bedroom, quaint parlour, spacious kitchen and dining area. The cottage interior has been recreated to capture the charm, but none of the inconvenience of days gone by. The cottage is self contained and guests have sole access. This includes the herb garden with an extensive and tantalising collection of the rare and unusual. The cottage is a gem in historic Oamaru, and we are delighted to share it. Oamaru is endowed with unique attractions. These include a Victorian streetscape, the charm of the little penguins, and a wealth of interesting eateries. Just 15 drive to the north is the award winning Riverstone Kitchen, and 20 minutes to the south is Fleurs of Moeraki. Oamaru also has an active craft beer scene, lots of quirky and fabulous art galleries, and hosts Victorian and Steam Punk Festivals throughout the year.
We pride ourselves on ensuring your comfort, and provide high quality bed linen, towels and soap, along with damask napery.

Miss Barclay's cottage had the "three C's" we were looking for - it was comfortable, convenient, and cute as the dickens. We stayed two weeks, and it was just like being home. The cottage is a gem, the antique furnishings Marise and Herbert have installed are amazing, the garden is beautiful, and all that is just a short walk (we didn't have a car, and didn't miss it) from the Oamaru Gardens, the historic district.and all the shops we needed for a delightful stay.
A wonderful and unique accommodation experience, essential to any with an interest in local history. Miss Barclays Cottage is a true treasure. The attention to detail makes for a very memorable stay. Very highly recommended!
