Bach or holiday home | Whiritoa | #3990
Walk onto beach beside a safe lagoon. This bach is perfect for families with small children to early teens. Watch the waves, also river and reserve views. Bush walks, surfing, body surfing (boards available), kayaking (4 kayaks and life jackets supplied). Perfect for holidays, celebrations or just relaxing. Laundry facilities and modern kitchen. Gas barbecue. Plenty of games and jigsaws for wet days. Loads of books and some children's toys. Room for tents. (Neighbours on Bookabach too for larger groups)
We have a great water supply with an ultra-violet water filter system ensuring NZ water standard quality.
Surf life saving operating during the Summer. Little nippers club during Summer school holidays. Bar open from 5.30 and big screen for 'the game'!
Visit the blow hole at the south end of the beach on a rough day- awesome!!! Waimama reserve opposite- lovely to walk through the bush and pohutukawas to the next beach where there are rock pools and fishing. Nice swimming too in the more sheltered Waimama Bay. Keep walking over the hills to the 'secret special beach' and the cave, waterfall and ship wreck. Magic!
Only 15 minutes from Waihi, for gold history and steam train, and Whangamata for the boat ramp, golf, supermarket, and cafes, although the local shop does a good coffee too and has nearly everything you might need, including fish and chips at the weekend and holidays. Heaps of walks around the area. Stop in the Karangahake Gorge between Paeroa and Waihi. Explore the Coromandel Forest Park if you are more adventurous, but you probably won't go anywhere!!
One week is never long enough!!!

Absolutely no fires, fireworks or smoking on the property.

I want to live here! And so does my family. Everything was perfect. The description does not tell of all that is provided for your stay at this wonderful home. Margaret is a great host who offered so many suggestions for our large group. Even down to trying to find an extra house. Which luckily we were able to get. (next door). The photos are lovely but dont do justice to the actual tranquil surrounds and beautiful position of this property. I could go on and on but just book it. You will love it! My date of stay is incorrect because I did not realise that I had not submitted my original review. We stayed 28/9- 30/9
The most amazing spot with stunning views and right on the beach....the weather was amazing so we spant our time on the beach and walking throught the reserve, and kayaking the estuary, but if it was raining there is plently to do at the bach with loads of games and books and everything you could need, wonderful break and I hope to be back again.....thank you for sharing!
Gorgeous location and great for families with lots to do wet or fine. Well stocked and modern facilities. Kiwi character Bach to unwind and unplug and watch the waves
We absolutely feel in love with this property with such a tranquil outlook over the water to the bush. I wasn't aware that the downstairs bunk room didn't have internal access and was concerned that it was going to be a issue but with a second downstairs toilet it was fine for through the night. A lovely simple bach feel with everything you could need, one dairy/fish n chip store (which was closed before 7pm the Friday night we got there) so a good idea to stock up in Waihi or Whangamata before you get there as once your there you wont want to leave! Well looked after and well loved and the owners where quick to contact if needed. Cant wait for my next stay!
