Description

  • Experience inner city living, dining and entertainment!
  • Only a short 3-4 block walk to the Coastal Walkway which will lead you to 2 safe swimming beaches.
  • Casually walk to the art and cultural centres New Plymouth has to offer!

Our lovely modern apartment will provide you with a secure home base, leaving you free to explore the city of New Plymouth's attractions and the wider expanse of experiences the beautiful province of Taranaki has to offer, including:

The Len Lye Centre, Govett-Brewster Art Gallery, Puke Ariki Museum, The Wind Wand - a Len Lye sculpture which is found on the renowned New Plymouth Coastal Walkway. The award winning walkway extends the length of coast north and south of the city and is quite stunning! Safe swimming beaches with great surf breaks, East End and Fitzroy can be accessed straight off the walkway - keep traveling north and you will reach the Te Rewa Rewa pedestrian/cyclist bridge which takes you across the Waiwhakaiho River.

We have the beautiful Pukekura Park (an experience in itself - and during December/January you can enjoy the famous 'Festival of Lights' which encompasses an extraordinary light show with various live entertainment acts!) We also have New Plymouth's outdoor ampitheatre, The Bowl of Brooklands, which is in a beautiful setting within the Park which has hosted major international entertainers over many years. Mount Taranaki proudly watches over our province and is simply stunning. There are a number of walks/treks available to enjoy the outdoors and there is the Maunganui Ski Field that operates when snowfall permits.

We have Pukeiti, which is a 360 hectare mountain property located just south of New Plymouth. It holds one of the biggest and most diverse collections of rhododendrons in the southern hemisphere and is uniquely nestled in rainforest. During the high season, the Founders Café is open for a selection of lunches and tasty snacks so visitors can relax and enjoy the panoramic views. The Taranaki Rhododendron Festival runs from late Oct to early Nov when various local gardens are open to the public - they are beautiful!

You can experience lion and tiger's being fed at Pouakai Zoo - that's certainly worth a visit!
