Sandbar Beach House is ideal for 2 or 3 Families, with the beach just at your doorstep. There are some amazing walks, surfing, paddle boarding, fishing, jet skiing and boating. We have a ski lane in the estuary with 1 boat ramp. Great local cafes including Bennetts of Mangawhai where the most delicious chocolate is made. We have a tennis court across from our drive.

There are 2 open plan kitchen/dining/lounge areas equipped with all your cooking needs and a webber BBQ. With some breath taking views our Beach House opens right up so you can sit relaxing in the sun till it sets. Great for dinners while watching the kids play tennis. We love our times at Mangawhai and we know you will love your time there.

Special conditions: We just ask that when you stay in our Beach House you treat it with a high standard. Our gated environment is relaxing with great friendly neighbours and we want to be considerate to them. So we do ask for no fireworks, big parties or loud music. No drug use or smoking on site or within the gated area. No pets. We would prefer no kids eating in the bedrooms. Max 4 cars per booking due to driveway space. Our wish is for you to enjoy and have a relaxing healthy getaway.

    Great location. Worked will having two completely separate living areas with the kids. Note bunk room is in garage with only external access, which our kids liked, but wouldn't work with young kids.

  • Since we confirmed our booking the place has changed hands so I...

    Since we confirmed our booking the place has changed hands so I hope the new owner advertises it more honestly than the previous one. For a start they don’t tell you the mezzanine with bunks is in the garage with no windows or ventilation. The 2 downstairs bedrooms are extremely small. The 2 upstairs bedrooms have no privacy as the stairways from each lounge go directly to them with no doors at the top. No internal access to the apartment. Also hot water inconsistant and none the last day

    Thanks for your feedback and comments noted. With regards to bedroom size and stairways to both upstairs bedrooms with no doors is correctly represented in the photo gallery. Hot water runs on gas, Not sure whether you noted that there were two spare full gas bottles in the garage for guests to change over in case gas runs out or to call the contact person on the guest book to send someone to do this for you. Irrespective our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

  • Lovely house and great location

    Lovely house and great location. Only issues were the oven was faulty and operated on full all the time, making it impossible to cook using the oven itself. Also we had planned to use the downstairs bunks for the 3 boys, which is part of the garage/storage area. Unfortunately this was riddled with cockroaches, so the boys had to sleep on mattresses in the lounge.

    Thanks for your feedback. Firstly, the oven and other appliances were serviced six months ago and have been operating with no faults. We weren't aware of the fault you raised and I will check this asap. Secondly, both garage area and inside the house have ultrasonic electronic insect repellents operating 24/7 basis and they have been very effective and again will check this asap. Lastly, I am sorry to hear about these issues and our apologies for the inconvenience caused.
