The property is ideal for a couple who wants a comfortable, and very well equipped place to stay. (Pets are welcome, we provide a kennel if your dog prefers the outdoors, and well behaved dogs are welcome inside). It has a heat pump/ air-conditioner, washing machine, gas cooker, BBQ and fish smoker, microwave and good cookware for foodies, even an air roaster. The deck has a conservatory area in case it rains, and there is a deck heater if its cooler. A second bedroom allows for another couple, or kids that can share a bed. Its a handy base for seeing all the great stuff the southern end of Lake Taupo has to offer. Fishing, and water skiing are popular, and the cottage is not too far from ski-fields - about a 45 minute drive. Locally there is plenty to do, you can go white water rafting, and there is a nice golf course. The Tongariro National Trout center is great for the kids. There are local natural hot pools, and a good quality indoor swimming pool in the village center. Lots of local walks mean you can explore the Tongariro river, or even do the Tongariro crossing if you are more adventurous. The bach is a 5 minute walk to the town center, so you can walk to town for shopping or a drink and a meal at one of the local bars and restaurants. A kayak, life jacket, and VHF radio are also available by prearrangement at no charge.

We decided to go away on short notice, because of the timing we had to take our dog with us, which seemed difficult at first because of the few proper dog-friendly places available. This cottage was awesome! We loved everything inside: cozy and comfortable with everything needed as well as central to exploring the region. The obvious PLUS was that we could leave our beloved dog in the nice big safe backyard and take him for a stroll in the afternoon. Will definitely stay again! Thank you!

  • Is a comfortable home

Is a comfortable home. Didnt miss anything except missing a coffee plunger and teapot which Dave says he will rectify. If water pressure appears low then check the mains tap outside is on full
