Our cafe (open during school and public holidays 10am till 4pm) Now operates a wood fired pizza oven, serves fine coffee, wedges with sour cream and sauces, freshly baked cookies and of course our fine single vineyard Pinot Gris, Blanc de Noir and Pinot Noir. Our flagship 2008 Methode Traditionelle and a Pinot Gris "Ice style" desert wines are superb! All this can be enjoyed overlooking our pristine vineyard from our wide second story cafe decks!

Take a kayak for a leisurely paddle down the river to the lake, fish, swim, sail, water ski or let us book you a rafting trip on the mighty Tongariro River. Try snow skiing during the winter months, it's just 45min to the Top of the Bruce at Whakapapa skifield from here.

Local walks, tramping, hiking (or "rambling" for you British folks) abound and we are happy to advise on the gear required and suitability for varying fitness levels.

Within an hours drive of several top class golf courses.

Perfect accomodation for cyclists if you are involved in one of the many around the lake events.

Any help we can provide to make your stay at our place more enjoyable we will gladly provide - just ask! Wireless internet is available via "Zenbu" - check it out!

Helicopter flights either scenic or to get you to a secret fishing spot are available from the vineyard.

Guests will obviously need to shop for food - the nearest supermarket is in Turangi which is about 20mins drive to the South. There is also a well stocked local dairy and petrol station (The Omori Store). If you are arriving late please be aware that you will be hungry unless you have your own supply of food!

Please note our on site café is only open during the Summer school holidays and Easter.

Special conditions: A minumum stay of two nights is required Our chalets are unique and luxurious, situated in a working vineyard. As such there is occasional vineyard activity (mowing, pruning etc) which is necessary to maintain our grapes in peak condition. Guests are expected to recycle and keep rubbish sorted, bins provided.

  • This property is in a lovely location

This property is in a lovely location. It sits right in the midst of a vineyard, and is a stone's throw from the vineyard's tasting room and cafe. It is not a luxury home (thin walls, formica countertops, inexpensively furnished) but is quite clean and well stocked. Internet access was very difficult at first, but Will got us sorted to have better (still somewhat difficult) access. Any issues we had at the beginning of our stay were addressed right away. . We very much enjoyed our stay.

  • We loved our stay here

We loved our stay here. There was everything we needed in the bach and it was so peaceful amongst the vines! Great that the pizza oven was running when we couldn't be bothered to cook as well. Loved that we could cycle everywhere too. We'll be back!

Well the weather was terrible but there wasn't a better place to ride out the storm! Comfortable and well appointed we enjoyed our views across the vineyard and enjoyed drinking wine and eating woodfired pizza just as much - we were very lucky that the restaurant was open over the holidays! The beds were very comfortable too!

  • Delightful, peaceful location in the midst of the vines

Delightful, peaceful location in the midst of the vines. Well laid out and with nice features. Good beds, well-appointed kitchen. We had pizza from the cafe one evening, which was delicious. Also nice to buy a bottle of the vineyard's own bubble and drink it in the warm evening air outside our chalet.
