I stayed in this property for 2 weeks with my husband and elderly mother. We found it a relaxing retreat and loved the bird life viewed from the expansive deck.. The bach is an interesting design with basic amenities but suited our simple holiday requirements just fine.
Very unhappy about the cleanliness of the Barbeque and oven , unable to use them. The fridge had not been wiped out and had rancid butter in it and the Bach is in need of some maintenance , kitchen sink tap unstable , broken blinds but we enjoyed our stay in Anakiwa, we were warm and comfortable and it was great to be able to take our little dog along.
This bach is set in a stunning location & the deck gets all day sun which is lovely. It's really peaceful and the large sunny garden is a lovely place with birdsong from the native bush all around. Also a big bonus for the South Island: NO sandflies or mosquitoes!! Also a great walk along the bush-track alongside the beach for dog-owners like us :) Lots of stingrays at the beach but it's ok as long as you make noise, plus there's the option of swimming off the jetty just a short walk away.
