  • Private beach and great jetty for fishing and swimming
  • 2 serviced moorings for your boats

This is a genuine waterfront bach with its own private beach and jetty in Dryden Bay, towards the outer Queen Charlotte Sounds near to the entrance to Endeavour Inlet. It is an ideal environment to wind-down and relax, not to be bothered by the typical distractions in an urban environment. It features stunning views, glow worms, wekas, and good fishing.

It is in a remote area, only accessible by boat. The bach operates as a self-sufficient unit; and eco-bach. It has a composting toilet; gas fridge and gas hot water, solar panels and batteries; wood burner and BBQ for cooking; wood fired spa, a back-up generator if electricity is needed. There are no metropolitan services; it is off the electricity grid, town water supply, and telephone network.

There is a 44 metre jetty, two moorings (2 and 3 tonne moorings), and a 13 foot aluminiium boat, kayak and life jackets available for your use.

There is plenty to do, from having a BBQ, laying in the sun, swimming, boating, fishing, and tramping.

This is boat access only. The Cougar Line water taxi who go by three times daily, can drop you directly at the bach. Or you can use your own boat to get there.

We expect visitors to clean and leave the bach as they have found it for the next guests. There are no cleaning services due to the bach's remote location.

Special conditions: Pricing is based on 4 people. Additional people $15-30 each depending on season. Additional charges may apply to holiday weekends. During Christmas (16 Dec. 15 Jan) a minimum stay of 5 days is preferred. Easter, 3 days. All other times between 2-4 night minimum stay required; 25% deposit required on confirmation of booking. Dogs must be kept on leash due to the abundant wekas and bird life. Smoking outside only. People are expected to leave the bach clean and tidy as they have found it.

Fabulous, breathtaking and private location. Eco property was well equipt and very well thought out with renters in mind. We had three peaceful nights at Pistol and will be back for longer next time. Easy to get to with direct drop off via Cougar Lines water taxi from Picton (double check their timetable before booking flights, connections and the bach before booking or you'll get caught out like we did (wasn't a problem and was resolved effortlessly)). Excellent fishing and wildlife spot

An idyllic week! It is a basic Bach - nothing to be precious about so my 2 boys were able to relax and have fun. The facilities work really well, it is comfortable & well maintained & thought out.The hot tub is the cherry on the top - amazing after a long days fishing and boating. Fishing off the jetty brought in lots for the kids - small sharks, kahawai, blue cod, grey mullet, spotties and even a huge octopus. Visiting Sting Rays and King Fish were also spotted. Would highly recommend.

The pictures on the website don't do this place justice. It is soooo peaceful and relaxing. The clear clear waters, perfect for snorkelling etc. The bath, really good, and stays warm for next day also! The bach, warm and accommodating. Has pretty much all u need, we even found the table tennis table and set up for a few games. So good not having a lot of other baches within coo-eee. We took a charter boat up there, and the moorings and dinghys there were perfect, and easy to sort out.
