Te Makiri Cottage is a cosy, romantic, private, 2 storeyed, 2 bed roomed holiday getaway, nestled in the vineyard belt of Onetangi, surrounded by Pungas and native trees with views of Obsidian and Miro vineyards. The cottage can comfortably sleep 4 guests.

Te Makiri Cottage is only 15 mins walk to beautiful Onetangi Beach, which is known for it's sandy white beaches and popular cafes, featuring live entertainment and delicious food.

We have a special pathway into Miro Vineyard featuring the popular tapas restaurant; 'Casita Miro' serving lunch and dinners (booking necessary). Miro produces delicious Bordeaux wines. We also have private access to Obsidian Vineyard which has wine tastings everyday through summer from 11am until 4pm. There is also a walk through to Te Motu.

Te Makiri Cottage is simply decorated with solid plastered walls and terracotta tiled floors. It has 2 showers and one toilet and a bath tub on the covered porch. The cottage has Sky TV and DVD/ CD player plus a DVD and reading library available. . The cosy, romantic upstairs bedroom has a ladder with handrails access. The downstairs bedroom opens out onto the deck with French doors. Both bedrooms have heating. On the patio our guests can sip wine and listen to the Tuis and other native birds which live around the vineyard pond area.

We offer complimentary healthy breakfast supplies, with home-made muesli, toast bread and freshly ground roasted coffee (enough for a couple of days).

There is off street parking and room for a trailer boat. Fullers' Bus route's last Onetangi stop is at the bottom of 7 th Ave which is a 15 minute walk uphill to the cottage. We do recommend bringing a car over or car rentals down at Matiatia wharf are really reasonable. Check out Sealink car ferry prices also.

Very cute little place set in the idyllic bush. We had a wedding at Casita Miro and were able to walk up the vines from the house - very romantic and meant we did not have to battle trying to find a taxi on the way home. Thank you for our lovely stay.

Behind the main residence, this charmingcottage contains personal touches, including artwork and thoughtful placement of fresh herbs and chilli on the windowsill, milk and bread in the fridge. We appreciated the outdoor setting, especially the veranda, from which one can take breakfast and enjoy the garden even in the rain. This property would be rated even higher if the beds were more comfortable. Hard springs, a sagging mattress, polyester pillows, and heavy mosquitoes slightly disappointing.

We have upgraded the upstairs mattress following your comments. Re the mosquitoes; Waiheke had the heaviest rainfall ever recorded on the island that week. I did mention the cottage had 2 plugin insect repellents and 2 mosquito nets available :)

Lovely quiet location near to Onetangi beach, outside bathroom not used as a bit rustic (no toilet), good to have washer and dryer. Bit tight on space for 4 adults to share and not enough space for 4 adults to sit comfortable in the lounge area.

What a great spot, not least for the gate at the bottom of the garden that opens onto a wee path that leads you straight to the front door of the fabulous Casita Miro. Highly recommended.

The cottage was beautifully set up with lovely flowers and very clean and tidy. We were at a wedding so the location to Casita Miro was excellent a quick walk through the vineyard. Having 2 showers worked really well for us. The breakfast was a real treat, thanks Katy we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come again soon.
