Fantastic location, so close to the sea with views from the kitchen window. Only a few minutes drive into Hokitika, super-handy. I chose it because we could bring our dog which was a real treat. Great size for two ( it was me and my 13 year old daughter). Separate bedroom great. Very cute bach that has everything you need. Lovely couple who gave us our space but it was great to bump into them on the property and have a chat. Highly recommend!
Very poorly maintained overpriced bach. Exposed wiring, oily dirty kitchen dishes and oven, uninviting. We were really disappointed and have stayed in numerous baches countrywide over the past 20 years and found this one terrible. We nearly left and stayed elsewhere but had paid for 3 nights upfront and it was the school holidays.
Bach is ranked second in Hokitika, ( one reason being value for money) so this review is totally out of kilter with previous reviews - see previous review from the day before. "Exposed wiring" is an extension lead to a lamp. The cottage is thoroughly cleaned between bookings. We do not rewash the dishes as it is part of the house rules for guests to wash, dry and put away their dishes (which this guest did not do ) This is an older style NZ bach - do not confuse old with dirty.
Love this tiny bach just right by the beach. Very homey and comfortable to stay in. We loved the facy that we can have walks along the beach and watch the beautiful sunset of Hokitika. The eels also add a touch of adventure for my little son when we went to feed them. Will recommend to anyone who would want to experience the untamed and beautiful Hokitika town.
