Farmstay | Port Levy | #7578
Two self contained cottages set in the bounds of historic Chelston Farm (if showing that cottage is booked please contact us as it may just be one of the cottages booked). Chelston was established in 1870, firstly as a steam driven sawmill, then from 1910 it was farmed. The Chelston cottages are unique slices of New Zealand farming history. The old Shearers Quarters from 1942 has a beautiful private outlook with the sights and sounds of the country ($120 per night for two adults). Both cottages are separate from each other in their own worlds. The old Stables accommodation is a real slice of Kiwi history ($160 per night for two adults). It is a unique opportunity to experience and stay in a genuine early century cottage with all the modern comforts and beautiful views. Close to native bush, abundant bird life and all grades of walking from the fit to the frail. Established gardens, wonderful elevated views out to sea. Absolute seclusion peace and natural beauty. Approx one hours drive from Christchurch. Pets welcome. Children under 12 free. Broadband internet service available onsite.
Special conditions: Children under 12 free

We stayed overnight with our young children who loved the farm style experience. The free range chickens and cow were great entertainment. The Stable was beautifully presented and period authentic with modern facilities. The children loft beds were a great hit. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We spotted the farmstay a few years ago and thought it would be the loveliest place to stay - it was! It's quite secluded with bush, birds and no cell phone reception (a plus in my view). The place had real character and was comfortable.
