Bach or holiday home | Hicks Bay | #7664
Whare Onepoto is nestled only 100 metres away from the sand at Onepoto Bay (Horseshoe Bay). Enjoy stunning views of the bay as you breakfast on the deck or relax in the main living area.
Onepoto is a secluded peaceful settlement nestled in native bush, with great swimming, surfing, fishing and bush walks in the area. The beach has a shallow and sandy bottom with a wide open bay and rock pools on the right hand side - the perfect playground for young children.
Take the walk up through native bush to the Hicks Bay Motels. Anglers can enjoy good fishing spots from the rocks to the left of the Bay or at the nearby Hicks Bay wharf.
Boats are regularly launched from the Bay or you can book a fishing charter.
The East Coast is the first place in the country to see the sun and a trip to the East Cape Lighthouse (40 minute drive) is a great place to watch the sun rise. You can also visit the largest and oldest pohutukawa tree in New Zealand outside the local primary school in Te Araroa (15 minutes drive).
There are convenience stores and takeaways in nearby Hicks Bay and Te Araroa and for those in need of good coffee, visit the Manuka Factory Cafe to sample the East Coast's finest.
Whether seeking a romantic getaway, some quality time with the family or a fishing trip with your buddies, get away from the hustle and discover why we know Onepoto Bay to be the most beautiful place in Aotearoa New Zealand - nau mai, haere mai!

The house is well set up with everything we needed and super close to the beach. The actual location and part of the country is stunning. We had some great snorkeling with the kids plus managed to get some crays and paua diving in the area. The locals in the area are super friendly lovely people. Shout out to Aaron for gifting us fresh Hapuka! Hope to come back with a crew to go out fishing the Ranfurly Banks. Thanks Ngahiwi - house was perfect for us.
Very lovely batch, perfect for what we need when we holiday in the bay, beautiful view and location straight across the road from the beach. We have booked this batch several times and will definitely be back. Thanks for another awesome stay! :-) The Scott Family.
Really enjoyed our stay as we have a number of times. Fishing was great. Weather was as expected ( predicted wrong ) but we don't let that bother us. We travel about 7.5 hours and its worth every km. Will be back without a doubt. Whare looking good. Kia Ora.
