Truly magical spot, house was bright and quirky and comfortable. Paradise for kids with toys and games and of course the beach. We read late in our stay to keep off the dunes around the house as much as possible, unfortunately kids had at this point spent days jumping in them, sorry! A wild part of the country to explore with a cozy, warm house to return to at the end of the day. Highly recommend.
This home and it's environment is simply a character from a wonderous fairy tale. A beloved house with an orange back door dwelling inside a sand dune ring of magical protection. Sea lions and their wives stand guard. And then you realise you have stepped inside an art work, drinking cups of tea from cups made by a magician. To be there in a beautiful French dress, walking the sea shore, trending the fire, I felt like I'd found a home.
Love this location. Gorgeous secluded beach where you can watch the ships sail in to Port Chalmers. Short drive to the city. We have stayed there twice and enjoyed our stay both times. The bach itself is very quaint and has most of the things needed. The log fires were great. Mattresses on single beds need replacing. Dirt road to bach difficult. Overall great stay, good value for money.
