Bach or holiday home | Muriwai | #8239
The views from the lovely light living room of this modern open plan beach house will take your breath away from the moment you walk in the door.
Tucked away from the road in native landscaping on the clifftop overlooking stunning Muriwai Beach and the coast, guests who come to stay at this property often abandon their plans for hiking, horse-riding, wine-tasting, fishing, surfing or dodging the waves in favour of staying right where they are.
Warmed by the sun and underfloor heating, the house is every bit as inviting in cooler temperatures as it is in the summer when there's always the 10-meter swimming pool to dive into. (Pool is not heated between Anzac Day and Labour Day.)
You can walk down the road or, better still, through the nikau palms on a forest track to go to the beach or get a coffee at the local cafe. Or you can make a cappuccino in the coffee machine at the house and relax in a beanbag by the pool, looking out at the ocean and the hang-gliders who bob up and down around Oaia Rock and the world famous gannet colony.
You can walk the Hillary Trail to Bethell's Beach and back, if you are keen, or you can lie on a lounger inside the house or out and listen to the tuis. You can get fish and chips - and most other things including fresh baked muffins - from the Motutara Road dairy or drive just 10 minutes to the nearest supermarket and then come back to the house and rustle up a meal in the fully-equipped cook's kitchen.
Every sunset is a pleasure to watch from this stunning Muriwai house. You can do everything the wild west coast of New Zealand will throw in your way, or you can just chill out and watch the world go by. With two flat screen televisions and DVD machines, you can transport yourself to wherever you feel like going, or with the broadband internet provided, stay hooked into wherever you need to be.
A perfect getaway throughout the year yet just 35 minutes drive to downtown Auckland or an hour to Auckland airport.

This property is a beautiful, relaxing, and comfortable dream come true. From the nearly 180 degree views of the coast line to the gorgeous sunsets to the beautifully appointed interior and the swimming pool/deck, this is an idyllic place to relax, unwind, and appreciate New Zealand's wild beauty while still within a convenient drive of civilization and Auckland as a whole. Highly recommended.
Fabulous experience! We had all the comforts/extras you could ask for. Relaxing from the moment we arrived right through to the moment we left. Swimming in the pool in early May was an added bonus. Amazing views of the stars at night too. We can't wait to get back there and do it all over again. Thank you for sharing your home away from home with us.
The property is everything it appears to be in the photos and more! Million dollar views, all the home comforts and only 40 minutes from Auckland. During our stay we had builders on the properties either side of 411, but they were considerate and we forgot they were there the place and weather was so perfect. The house itself has been very well designed, although there was only 2 of us, we could easily see how 2 couples could have privacy while staying there. We will be re-booking again.
