Cottage | Rotorua Township | #8388
Relax in our homely cottage in a great location. Enjoy a tranquil rural outlook whilst having the convenience of major tourist attractions and fast food outlets within easy walking distance. Unwind in comfort and soak up the calm in our home away from home. French doors off both the lounge and bedroom allow for great indoor/outdoor living and the deck is great for kicking back and enjoying a spot of sun with your favourite drink (without the smell of sulphur)!
The Cottage is situated opposite Mitai Maori Village (an awesome attraction highly recommended if you are looking to experience Maori culture), Rainbow Springs, Glass Blowing Art Studio, and Skyline Skyrides (leave the car at home; stroll down the road to catch the gondola, luge down the mountain, wine and dine and walk home!). Rotorua Canopy Tours has its office and meeting place a short walk towards the city. Opposite is Mini Golf.
The Cottage is also handy to a green grocer and dairy (a 5 minute walk) – and approximately 600 metres on Fairy Springs Road towards the city,(an 8 minute walk) is the Skyline Shopping Centre containing a mini Superette, Post Office, Burgerfuel, Bakery, Dona Kebab, Coffee Shop, Laundromat, Doctors Surgery and Chemist amongst other small businesses. Several fast food outlets: Burger King, McDonalds and KFC, oh and not forgetting a convenient BP for all those Wild Bean Café Coffee lovers all within easy walking distance or a short car ride further on.
Easiest Supermarket to locate is Countdown, 1500 metres on Fairy Springs Road towards the city. Turn left out of the driveway and continue on through 3 sets of lights (including pedestrian lights) and at the 4th set turn right.
Heading toward Ngongotaha are other tourist attractions including Ogo – a 2 minute walk, motorcycle rides, and further on is the Agrodome, Agroventures Adventure Park, AmazeMe hedge maze, and the Zorb. On Paradise Valley Road are Wingspan and the Fish and Game Trout Hatchery.

Pros: Good location, pastoral views from the unit. Rather quiet. Cons: Lack of screened windows/doors meant that flies were everywhere. Was attacked by mosquitos at night. No real ventilation without opening up doors. Doors did not shut properly. No sponges or drying rack for proper cleaning of dishes, knives were dull. It rained a lot during our stay, wet ramps meant slippery surface. No wifi in unit which made planning difficult. Would look elsewhere next time.
Lovely, clean and tidy cottage with a peaceful rural view and loads of sun most of the day with the big glass French doors. Very cosy even during the winter with the heating on. everything we needed for an easy weekend away. Would definitely recommend.
Property was clean and warm. Well looked after in a hidden location. Rather special and you'd never know it was there. A last minute booking but a very good one. Enjoyed by myself and family. Just far enough out of town to relax and close enough to every attraction shop that you'll ever need.
