You'll also enjoy a large deck, wood burner, a bathtub, infinity gas hot water (meaning hot showers for everyone!)
Very conveniently located for a ski break at just 35-40 mins drive to the top of either of Mt Ruapehu's ski areas - plus, you get the added bonus of a relaxing holiday in the country. The house is cosy and warm, with the wood burning stove heating up the whole house in no time, while adding a gorgeous ambiance.
This property has been fitted out with everything you need for a comfortable bach stay. Fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. Massive couch and lounging chairs, including two chaise-style loungers, so you can put your feet up after your day's activities.
While a perfect winter base for skiing / boarding, Farm Cottage also offers a relaxing retreat for a summer adventure in the Central Plateau. An amazing north-facing view of the mountain from the top of the property (great place for a summer picnic), lovely on-site walks with a pond, pines and native trees, and animals grazing in the pasture all around.
Mountain biking tracks, stunning hikes (including the world-famous Tongariro Crossing) and trips to the Whanganui River (take a canoe or jet boat to the 'Bridge to Nowhere') all within easy reach.
House trained pets are welcome (please note that our fences are farm wire fences, so they will not keep your animals from wandering - you will need to tie them up if they're kept outside and you're concerned about this).
Board games, books, DVDs, and lots of wine glasses for your use. TV and DVD / Bluray player (note: no Sky/Freeview). Reliable mobile coverage with Spark & Vodafone.

Hi Fiona, thanks for your nice comments, but very sorry to hear that you experienced some road noise - it is a bit dependent on the weather (wind direction and whether it has been raining or not) so you obviously had some bad luck there. Most people do comment on how quiet and peaceful it is - hopefully it didn't detract from your stay as we want everyone to have a nice relaxing time. Good to hear that you enjoyed the walks with your dogs though! : D
What a great place to unwind. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Our little dog loved exploring the area, but got a bit scared when the cows got too close to the house :). The house was lovely with great water pressure and comfy furniture/beds. We had a great time.
The property was clean and nicely decorated. Although it is on a 10 acre site, there is no garden or outside seating area to speak of and the rest of the land is fenced off with no obvious walks. This is probably fine for winter skiers, but not so great for the summer months.
Hi :) Farm Cottage is a farm stay style property - while there aren't specific walks from the house (apart from the driveway) you're free to wander over the fields / woods as you wish. There is a well-formed path up the hill to the top of the site with views (also mentioned on the listing). While the house is primarily a ski house, in the summer months our guests can enjoy cycling, canoeing or jet boat trips on the Whanganui River and world-class hiking trails - your stay is what you make of it!
