Bach or holiday home | South Taranaki District | #8784
After travelling through picturesque Mangamingi Valley the cottage is situated at the northern end of Lake Rotorangi overlooking the lake. The cottage is part of a large sheep & cattle property, and has been renovated (2008) with new carpets/ polished wooden floors and tastefully furnished. Enjoy beds already made and towels provided.
In summer enjoy a BBQ on the sunny deck while taking in panoramic views of the lake, surrounding farmland and native bush. Two kayaks are available for your use on the lake - the best way to enjoy the lake is on it!
Lake Rotorangi is 46km long and is very popular in summer for wakeboarding and water-skiing with warm, calm waters. Two concrete boat ramps are 5 minutes along the road, with ample space to park boats at the cottage. Or enjoy some fishing from the shore in the evenings.
In winter curl up by the cosy fire, with board games, TV, books, music etc to entertain.
Other activities nearby include: native bush and farm walks, Lake Rotokare Sanctuary - predator-free with a highly recommended walking track through mature forest around the lake, local community tennis court, sample award winning Eltham cheeses, nationally reknown Tawhiti Museum, a possum factory, and many wonderful gardens in the region to visit. We can offer other suggestions as well.
Ideal for couples, families or a larger group of friends. Linen & cleaning included in the rental. The cottage is just 20 minutes from Eltham, a great base for your holiday.

This was a lovely place to stay. The cottage is fairly isolated, so we did a lot of driving to see the different things on our list, but this would not put us off going again. We loved the peace and quiet and the rural outlook. We really enjoyed the log fire and were plenty warm enough. We were blessed with fantastic weather and a good dumping of snow on Mount Taranaki to play in. This was our first time to the Taranaki and we found there was heaps to do in the area for free!
