Central living area characterful and comfortable with new, easy-to-light woodburner that heats the whole house quickly. Kitchen/dining area well-equipped and bright. Watch the waves from either area! 3 goodsize bedrooms, 1 king, 1 queen and 2 singles, all comfortable. Bathroom is modern with shub, shower and heated towelrail. Separate toilet. Internet available.

Friendly neighbours are local residents, one of whom keeps the lawns cut.

Sheltered grassy backgarden, fenced and gated. Room to play eg badminton, volleyball. Wooden picnic table with view out to sea.

Long, wide, flat beach with firm sand 100 metres away. Easy walking for miles up and down the beach, often to yourself. A walk North up the beach with wellies (provided) or jandals, crossing 2 shallow streams and back through Granity village takes an hour.

Granity has a gallery, op shop and a pub. No petrol: nearest South in Westport 30kms and North in Karamea 65 kms away.

North to Karamea with caves to explore and the start of the Heaphy track is beautiful,

Or drive South 20 mins to Westport, then 10 mins more to the airport and the golf course, then 5mins more to Cape Foulwind, the seal colony and the award-winning Cafe on Tauranga Bay. Another 20 mins to Charleston, old goldtown and the Nile River caves with adventure boat-trip and glowworms. Yet another 30 mins and you're at the famous Punakaiki pancake rocks and blowholes!

  • Lovely little bach

Lovely little bach. Quite original but that is all part of the charm. Nice outlook and right on edge of a fantastic wild beach of the west coast. Very quiet and remote feeling but still only 20 mins from Westport. Had a lovely time

  • What a great place to experience the West Coast

What a great place to experience the West Coast. A lovely cottage that was clean and warm. Wonderful to be able to take our family dog , for walking and biking. Highly recommend the Charming Creek Walk, it was an easy walk with fantastic scenery that was ever changing. We definately be back as there is soooo much more to explore.

Great location in Granity with the magnificent Tasman sea crashing away at the bottom of the garden. The bach is reminiscent of childhood bach holidays, tidy and cosy but a bit tired which is what gives a bach that being on holiday feel . Was nice to be able to have our dog with us and we enjoyed exploring the nearby semi ghost towns of Millerton and Denniston. Would definitely recommend Wavewatch as a good value holiday retreat in Granity.
