Stunning landscapes and wildlife make Wildside Getaway a paradise for lovers of the outdoors and photographers.

This lodge has been developed with sustainability in mind and is a great example of a warm, comfortable off-the-grid home. Power is provided by solar panels and wind turbines and hot water is provided by a combination of a wetback from the large wood burner, solar and instant gas.

All windows, doors and skylights are double-glazed and insulation has been maximised. Low emission paints, floorings and furnishings and sustainable building materials have been used where practical. Numerous items of furniture have been handcrafted from recycled native timber.

What an amazing place! The photos really don't do it justice. If you want to be off the grid for a couple of days surrounded by forests and the sounds of nature then this is the place for you. Also such an easy drive to Whakapapa/National Park. Would highly recoomend

We loved staying here, it was a very nice, well looked after property and it was a shame we didn't have our children with us as they would have enjoyed it too. Loved having the deer come over to stare at us and the view off the deck to Mt Ruapehu was a real treat!

What can we say Wildside is a beautiful slice of paradise! We loved the story behind the home, the amazing views, animals and walking tracks which we enjoyed with our beyond excited dogs (which led to more amazing views). The house is thoughtfully set up, comfortable and was super relaxing - we had a lovely visit and hope to go again some day. Tips - follow the instructions closely if arriving in the dark as the signage upon arriving at the property is not lit, no laundry facilities available.
