  • Excellent bach in an excellent location

Excellent bach in an excellent location. The bach was clean and tidy and nice and spacious for three adults. Amazing views over the habour with amazing sun rises. I would recommend this bach to anyone who wants to spend a few days relaxing away from the crowds. The bach made a great base to explore all over the peninsula.

  • We stayed in Feb 2011

We stayed in Feb 2011. The place smelled of mildew. The second bedroom was very small containing a juvenile metal bunk bed. My wife had to sleep on the couch and I had to pull one of the bunk mattresses onto the floor which filled the room. There is no oven. The owners clothes and boots were left in the master bedroom. Property is not suitable for two couples. It does however have a good location. We rated this property at the bottom of the 12 baches we stayed in.

    Owner/manager responds:

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry about the difficulties you experienced. We have created more storage for guests. Our listing better indicates the bunk-room as being suitable for children not additional adults. Where more than two adults are expressing an interest we will make sure the bed arrangements are explained. We have fixed the musty smell which developed in some cupboards. There is now a bench-top oven.

Pros: Beautiful views, very private, nice back yard, free internet. Cons: The house was VERY lived in and cluttered. It wasn't very clean, the cupboards and kitchen area was grimy. The TV was in an unusable location. My girlfriend has allergies and was extremely allergic to all the dust. The master bed was old and uncomfortable. There was a lot of old half-eaten food containers in the fridge. A new mattress and a weekly professional cleaning service would do wonders :)

    Owner/manager responds:

Cliffs Edge is our holiday home and we visit weekly. We have done a spring clean and reduced clutter. The fridge contains some margarine sauces etc which like other food supplies guests may use if they are short. The mattress on the queen bed is a year old and the digital TV and DVD new. We have increased drawer and hanging space available for guests. The crib is vacuumed and cleaned and checked before guests arrive. Sorry you had a bad experience, but it has been helpful to us.

Great place to stay, really warm and homely, everything was there and the scenery was beautiful. We really enjoyed staying at Cliff's Edge and would recommend it to others and stay again if we had the opportunity.
