Lodge | Kaipara Harbour | #22746
At the end of the Okahukura Peninsula in the community of Tapora, we have created a comfortable and stylish space for friends and family to sit back and enjoy a slice of rural life and coastal life. Okahukura Lodge is designed to sleep 6 comfortably. The bunk beds are actually King Singles. There is a power outlet on the garage designed for camper vans. Pets are welcome on request, and an understanding of the conditions. With it's close proximity to the Tapora Golf Course and the Kaipara Harbour, this is an ideal place for a relaxing break. A boat ramp is nearby at Birds Beach. Birds Beach is also recommended as a great windsurfing spot. Atiu Creek Regional Farm Park is 16km back towards Wellsford. There are also tennis courts and a children's playground at the school down the road. Less than a kilometre away is Tapora Golf Club, this is a family friendly course, and because it is on the sand can be played on throughout the year. Green fees are $10, Club Days are on Sunday. $5 per night of your rental goes to support the Tapora Land Care Group We now have access to WIFI through the 4G network, ie it might be a bit slower than you are used to. Please feel free to surf, listen to music, watch movies, but be aware that we also don’t have unlimited wifi. Special conditions: Okahukura Lodge is situated on a working farm. Livestock may be in the paddocks next to the house. An awareness and appreciation for farm animals and gates etc is required. The nearest shops and eftpos are located in Wellsford 30kms away. So you will need to bring all of your own supplies, and cash if you want to play golf. The last 12km to get to the Lodge is on a gravel road. Please note: If there are 4 or more people staying the $50 cleaning fee will be charged. Extras: Cleaning (Optional, NZ$50.00 per stay); Linen (included);

It felt like we were staying in a House & Garden magazine spread! Beds were so comfy. Everything you could want was in the kitchen. Great decor choices! Easy place to relax and entertain. The Stars were amazing at night time, we had fun playing golf up the road, Twilight Golf then Fish & Chips at the Golf club was yum. Loads of Great Horse Trekking possibilities at the Auckland Regional Park, the View from the Pa Site was well worth the walk ( My 7 year old did not agree tho ). Thanks
This is a beautiful, serene and peaceful part of New Zealand and as for the place it's self. I was blow away by the cozy, warm welcoming lfeel of the place. Summer or winter this place would be amazing for getting away from it all and relaxing. Everything was thought of free the robes in the wardrobes to the soda stream in the kitchen. My favourite aspect was the classy but unique design. All in all a wonderful batch and great weekend.
HI Vicky, thanks for your positive feedback. And thanks again for leaving the Lodge in such a good state at the end of your stay. You and your friends are welcome to stay anytime. And I am glad you appreciated some of the "special touches" Brett has put together for the the Lodge.
A wonderful place to stay! A fantastic kitchen /dining/ living area. Great for a hole pup of people who just want to hang out! Wonderful kitchen facilities, beds and everything else you could possibly want. We also went to the local golf club for Friday night fish and chips which was a wonderful taste of rural life with friendly locals! The stars at night were amazing and we all can't wait to go back! It's easy to see how much the owners love Tapora and I thank them for sharing it with us!
