Studio house with great modern kitchen, lounge, bathroom and bedroom area.Your private deck is a lovely place to enjoy a wine and the amazing views.
Your privacy is assured as there are no neighbours around my property. So you wake up only to the sound of birds and the gentle of lap of the water.
You are only a few minutes walk from the sandy beach, with great swimming and a boat ramp right in front of the house.
A pristine harbour offers good fishing spots, plus ideal for sailing, kite surfing, paddle boarding or kayaking.Price includes 2 good sea kayaks.
With summer on it's way it is the ideal place for a relaxed get away, so you can curl up with a good book and a glass of wine to watch the sun go down.
We have lovely walking tracks in the area or it is a 15 minute drive to the Kawhia Golf Course.
There is a local horse trek available (in summer) or if you have your own horses we are happy for you to use our post & rail paddock facilities.
There are also Cafe's and some good local craft shops in nearby Kawhia.
This is also an area of historic cultural significance, with an old Pa site as our back drop. You can sit in the shade of our 1000+ year Pohutukawa tree and enjoy the ambience.
Although we are on the coast, Aotea is still central to a number of key tourist attractions in the region.

Great property and brilliant to end up our month long tour of New Zealand. It is very well equipped, clean and in a beautiful location. The photos don't do it justice. Mel and Geoff look after the property and they were very helpful. I highly recommend this property and is fantastic value for money.
During our recent NZ holiday we used 5 different baches between New Plymouth and Raglan, and Ruru Whare was our favourite for solitude and its lovely environment. The cottage had great facilties and Annette had even thought to provide a wee herb garden for guests to use. Highly recommended
The cottage location is stunning, the cottage itself is very well equipped and tastefully decorated - particularly liked the NZ art and glass works. What was missing was a personal welcome and orientation to the cottage(we understand the acting manager was unavoidably held up by bad weather). And we would have appreciated an Information Folder about the cottage, and also some inf.about the very rich local history. A Topo map of Aotea Harbour and surrounds would be great, too.
Oh my… a beautiful haven away from home to say the least… this glorious piece of paradise has all and then some to offer… a truly magical experience shared by my husband and I inclusive of our choc labs. No need to look further, comes highly recommended! The biggest thanks to you Annette for making this possible… :)
