Description

Relax by the wood burner, walk down the garden path to the Glen Eden river and admire the Tui, Kereru and Fantail in the established trees.

Located just beside our historic school house, the cottage is private and super comfortable with quirky decor and artwork throughout and garden views from every room.

Just around the corner you'll find Charlies Gelato garden, the Matakana markets and superb cinema, The pub, Samill Brewery, Ascension Wine Estate and much more.

Minutes from Omaha beach, Tawharanui and Goat Island marine reserve. Perfect retreat from the city with private access to the river and use of our kayaks. We also have a divine vintage and homewares shop on-site. We provide a selection of tea/coffee/milk/cereal.

Come and rejuvenate at a little corner of paradise.

***we have just finished a new house build onsite so the landscape still needs a little work.

Special conditions:

Smoking allowed outside only.

Not suitable for children under 12.

2 night minimum applies at all times.

We have lots of animals on the property including our 3 pet dogs. They are very friendly but if you don’t like dogs, this is not the place for you. If you have a chicken phobia (it's a real thing), it’s gonna be a looong weekend!!

Also if you can't manage loft-type stairs (they are a little steep but perfectly formed), it may not be the place for you.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: do the dishes before you leave;

    Perfect place to get away from everything but also so close to markets, restaurants etc. Definitely recommend.

    Beautiful property and nice and quiet - loved the animals floating around, just had to be a bit careful of the dog :-)

  • Quirky but very comfortable cottage

    Quirky but very comfortable cottage. Close to Matakana. Incredibly comfortable bed. Only note is that the bathroom is downstairs and main bedroom up fairly narrow stairs - not a problem for us, but some visitors might need to understand this.

    A fantastic quaint little cottage to stay in for a complete break from fast city life. The cottage has everything you need to relax, games, cards, lots of books and magazines, plenty of farmland to roam around in, and if you feel like it, a private outside bath (with hot water) to relax in. We were given fresh farm eggs, milk, muesli and some bread on arrival, which was a nice touch. Lots of wood for the fireplace, kept my husband happy. Would definitely stay again.
