Our 2 bedroom house with 2 adjoining rooms, has equal amounts of character and comfort! Perfect for friends, family and club get-togethers (4 other houses available for accommo too)..The house is cool in summer but cosy warm in winter especially with the woodstove cranked up ! (The 2nd bathroom is outside and joined onto the back of the house - 10?m away)

There's no deck but the BBQ tables on the lawn outside are perfect for supping on a wine or two and star-gazing at night (no light pollution here!!) Or during the day, look at those amazing views of cattle grazing on the paddocks with the backdrop of the mountains.

In the creek 150m away, the hot days can be spent paddling in the shallows, building dams and spying fishlife. Further upstream, swimmers can jump off the bank and swim in the 3m deep hole. More swimming can be done at the waterfalls too - 3 of them - lovely native bush to go through.

Tramping choices on the farm range from 1 to 6 hours - through bush, grassland and up into the mountains for amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Hauraki Gulf. (Detour to an old goldmine for closeups of glow worms too)

Horsetrekking is fun - all abilities can be catered for and all ages from 4 years old - walk, trot or canter along the grassy flats, through creeks and paddocks of sheep and cattle then up into the foothills for the views on the way home - beach rides too.

Lots of Off-farm activities too

  • The property is in a lovely location close to several nice beaches

The property is in a lovely location close to several nice beaches. It had everything we wanted for comfort and a well appointed large kitchen. We were however a little dissappointed. We were unaware that right outside our bedroom window was a communal shower/toilet used by campers on the property. We were awakended several mornings around 6am as people were very loud whilst using the facilities.

    Owner/manager responds:

I'm so sorry about your early morning wakeups - it is bad that it happened to great guests. I stupidly didn't think to explain the setup because I had thought that the campers booked in for that time from the 27/12 to the 3/1, wouldn't use the adjoining ablution block that much but I guess I was wrong and it only takes just 1 family who want to get off early fishing etc to spoil that theory.. In the future, I will reduce campers, close that block and send campers to the further-away block :)

  • Beautiful property with lovely walks

Beautiful property with lovely walks. The children enjoyed the horse trek. It is a pity the farm activities with feeding animals has stopped as that was a highlight of the holiday in past years.

    Owner/manager responds:

Yes, it's a pity that I can't continue with those farm activities any more ---- I must retire, slow down after 23 years and do my own thing. Hopefully the next generation will have the time one day to carry on the tradition !!??
