Bach or holiday home | Turangi | #43538
The property is ideal for a couple who wants a comfortable, and very well equipped place to stay. (Pets are welcome, we provide a kennel if your dog prefers the outdoors, and well behaved dogs are welcome inside). It has a heat pump/ air-conditioner, washing machine, gas cooker, BBQ and fish smoker, microwave and good cookware for foodies, even an air roaster. The deck has a conservatory area in case it rains, and there is a deck heater if its cooler. A second bedroom allows for another couple, or kids that can share a bed. Its a handy base for seeing all the great stuff the southern end of Lake Taupo has to offer. Fishing, and water skiing are popular, and the cottage is not too far from ski-fields - about a 45 minute drive. Locally there is plenty to do, you can go white water rafting, and there is a nice golf course. The Tongariro National Trout center is great for the kids. There are local natural hot pools, and a good quality indoor swimming pool in the village center. Lots of local walks mean you can explore the Tongariro river, or even do the Tongariro crossing if you are more adventurous. The bach is a 5 minute walk to the town center, so you can walk to town for shopping or a drink and a meal at one of the local bars and restaurants. A kayak, life jacket, and VHF radio are also available by prearrangement at no charge.
Sadly we have to charge a bond, due to a few ratbags. This is based on your Bookabach feedback, or personal references if we have met you. We endeavor to pay this back just as quickly as possible after your stay if all is well. This house is suitable for 4 persons, and is ideal for one or two couples.
Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$60.00 per stay); Bond (Required, NZ$0.00 per stay); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

We stayed 4 nights here, the house was clean and tidy when we arrived. I think we arrived on the coldest day of the year but in no time the place was cosy thanks to the heat pump. There was no noise at night from neighbours or anything like that. Everyone we spoke to in Turangi was super friendly. We used it as a base and did daily trips to various places knowing that there was a warm cosy place waiting for us, especially after a cold day up Ruapehu. Can't say enough good things!
