Birdsong all day while overlooking a bubbling creek with myfoot bridge access to the peaceful grassed Wackerlie Green Reserve to picnic,play cricket or french bowls [petanque] avail at cottage. This is the best way to walk to and from town at only 8 mins easy stroll

Relax on the extensive newly extended decking[ with a range of outdoor furniture ] ,that wraps round 3 sides of the cottage, enjoying the views of the surrounding bush clad hills and valleys with your favourite book, companion and chilled wine, beer or 'cuppa'. fire up the gas bbq for all meals outside.Enjoy a beautiful night sky, free from city reflection and pollution.

Newly redecorated,This lovely home has fully equipped kitchen and dining facilities, relaxing lounge, cosy log fire, electric heating, freeview TV, dvd. Even a piano and rocking horse and one tone carpet thru out.

Only 8 minutes easy stroll to wander down to the centre of Akaroa with its variety of cafes,restaurants and even a new Kiwi 'fish n chip' shop and supermarket and pubs, main wharf,sandy beach and public slipway.Browse through a variety of shops,museum and check the library/ movie theatre with a coffee or relax on the beach, take a harbour cruise, swim with dolphins, try out your tennis or cycling,explore the walks,hire a boat or hit off a round at the picturesque golf course only 12 mins drive away. Take a trip on one of the many sealed roads that access other bays such as Wainui, Little Akaloa or Okains Bay then return to the peace and tranquility of La vie en Rose Cottage and put your feet up,switch off your mobile, throw your car keys in the drawer and see what's cold in the fridge!!!   • The cottage was rather dissapointing

    The cottage was rather dissapointing. There was quite a buildup of dirt in some areas and we felt that it had not been cleaned between guest visits. We also did not feel the cottage was worth the price we paid, even though the owner kept offering up the place for additional nights. The third time he asked us if we wanted to stay extra nights was at an offer of half price but we never wanted or intended to stay longer than our original booking. I would not stay at this bach again.
