Enjoy fantastic barbecue and fun times in the newly constructed firepit and barbecue area with a built-in bench and comfortable cushions, as well as a table with seating for 6.
Sit on the covered veranda and enjoy the stunning view of the mountains across the valley. Right next door enjoy the best milkshakes in the world at the Diesel and Creme roadside diner. On the other side enjoy a frosty beer at the Dung Beetle pub while watching sport on TV with all the locals. There may be some socializing noise especially with a rugby game on the TV but the owners are quite happy to turn the volume down should this impede your peace and quiet.
The entire house is available for access to guests. Wifi is available upon request.
Barrydale is a warmhearted, artistic, quaint little town. Wildflower cottage reflects this mood. Right next door is the traditional and vibrant roadside diner, Diesel and Creme, that serves the most delicious of breakfasts, lunches and world-renowned milkshakes. On the weekends in the Summer on the weekends you can listen to live blues and rock music.
Wildflower cottage, runs parallel to the route 62, one road away to many restaurants. Most days you can encounter the wildlife that lives in the fields and mountains abutting the cottage, where you will see, meerkats, baboons and guinea fowl as they make their way home at night. In the Spring, wildflowers are aplenty in the fields right opposite the cottage, hence it's name.
There is safe and secure off street parking for three cars. The house is situated on a quiet cul de sac and can manage quite a few more cars.
The house consists of 2 bedrooms each with a queen sized bed. One bedroom is en suite but has no partition between the toilet, shower, basin and bed. This is an ongoing project. An alcove of the lounge area has two singles beds with a chair and writing desk in between. A quaint, rustic bathroom with a bath and shower, toilet and basin. A lounge and dining area. Entrance hall/breakfast area. Galley kitchen. A covered veranda with spectacular views of the mountain across the valley. The porch can seat six people.
There is a large entertainment area under a huge shady oak tree, which has lights that can illuminate the night sky. A separate firepit, braai/barbecue area with built-in seating and a table and chairs to seat six people. This area has a portable braai/barbecue that can be moved. Wood for the grill and firelighters provided free of charge and wood for the firepit for colder nights.
