Le Chai is a stylish and comfortable two bedroom stone cottage located in the main courtyard at La Cannonerie. Open plan ground floor sitting/dining room and modern kitchen. Tumbled travertine floor with stone walls makes this a stylish house for a comfortable family holiday. Upstairs their is a spacious kingsize bedroom and second bedroom with three single beds. Family bathroom with bath & separate shower. Quality bedlinen is provided and beds are made up for your arrival. Outside of the cottage there is a seating area and bbq. Please note the television is in English.

La Cannonerie was built in 1826 and incorporates parts of a medieval hunting lodge believed to have been built by Francois 1st. All of our cottages are stylish and comfortable and the perfect location to relax and enjoy a fabulous french holiday.

Located in the stunning Petite Champagne Cognac region there are no immediate neighbours and guests can relax and enjoy the large 14x6m heated swimming pool (open May - Oct) and terrace with its commanding views across vines and rolling French countryside. About an hour from the beautiful beaches of the coast and the famous islands of Re and Olereon La Cannonerie is the perfect location for day trips to either the beach or one of the many other places of interest including Bordeaux, St Emilion, Cognac, Angouleme, La Rochelle and Saintes. The English owners have an eye of design and have created modern interiors without detracting from the traditional stone exteriors. A perfect holiday destination for you to relax and unwind.

Mooie sfeervolle locatie tussen wijngaarden

prachtig gerenoveerde hoeve met heerlijk zwembad, goede douche en grote complete keuken. erg vriendelijk gastechtpaar woont op locatie Jonzac is nabij en heeft veel te bieden.

Fantastic

Talfryn and Shelly were very welcoming and gave us loads of great tips of where to visit. The cottage is very comfortable and had all the facilities you would need. Our girls (4 and 8) had a great time with all the other children in a very safe environment. The pool was a good size and the steps provide a great shallow end for the children to play. La Cannonerie is quite central so visiting all the different places of interest was quite easy. We have stayed in lots of different accommodation before and not once did I feel uncomfortable in the cottage (which is new for me). To the point that I didn't really want to leave. In conclusion, we have booked up for next year, which in my view could not be a higher compliment.

Outstanding

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday at La Cannonerie. The property was full of French rustic charm, but with every modern convenience. The location is idyllic set in fields of vines and sunflowers and gave us the peace and tranquility we were looking for. Talf and Shelley were the perfect hosts, always available to offer help and advice on places of interest, but never intrusive. All in all the perfect place to relax and explore this beautiful region of France. We will definitely be going back.

Beautiful. Comfortable. Family Friendly!

Beautiful, comfortable, and FAMILY FRIENDLY! My husband, 18-month old daughter, and I stayed here for what turned out to be the most relaxing three nights of our two-week vacation in France. While my husband and I had visited Paris several times, this was our first visit to Reaux and our first time traveling internationally with the baby. After navigating the Paris bistro scene (often doing without changing tables, high-chairs, or even toilette seats!), we were delighted to find an oasis where our family could finally relax and soak in the simple beauty of Charantes . Before we arrived, the owners had already assembled a fold-away crib complete with baby safe linens (I’m a stickler about cribs, and this was nicer than the one I lugged from Paris!). The Bathrooms had every luxury, a large bathtub, quality soaps (even a body scub!) and towels fit for an king. My personal favorite, however, was the spacious and beautiful kitchen. On our first day there, we did an impromptu stop at the wonderful town market. I was so excited by the offerings that I bought fresh eggs, steaks, and some veggies without first checking whether we had the utensils to cook them! I was so relieved to find that our kitchen came fully stocked with everything I would need (paring knife, garlic press, black pepper grinder, frying pans, AND A LE CREUSET DUTCH OVEN!). Our dinner was fantastic and the next morning I also prepared a Fritata which our baby enjoyed from the comfort of her high chair. She especially enjoyed snacking on the owner’s home-made honey. Yet another perk of our stay! The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Wood and kindling were always ready for our fires. We never had to ask for anything. Our needs were anticipated and met, and nothing was left to chance. My only regret is that we had not allotted more time for our stay here. FIVE STARS! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
