A beautiful property in the country

This was the perfect spot for us to stay outside of the city. The house was spacious and well-equipped for all of our needs. There was breathtaking scenery all around us, three beautiful dogs that kept us company on the large outdoor deck. If you are looking for a quiet retreat to his place is perfect. It was close enough to Reykjavik that we also did all the tourist things. We would come again.

Roomy home in Iceland’s beautiful county side

The owner responds quickly to messages and the home is super clean and spacious. About 30 min from Reykjavik, or the first sight of the ‘golden circle’ it is a great jumping off location if you enjoy the quiet countryside.

Great place for large group

This is a very nice villa for 8-10 people in Kjós about 40 minutes out of Reykjavík. Great location, plenty of space, beautiful furniture and nicely decorated interior - you immediately feel comfortable in this home. Monika was a good host and responded quickly to questions. The location for this property is very inaccurate on this site - even the "exact location" given after booking is not correct but fortunately Google Maps knows Hvassnes. Overall, nevertheless, very happy with our stay.

Stunning location and larger then you expect

What a great stay we had at this awesome property. Three big bedrooms, huge living area with lots of sofas and well appointed kitchen plus laundry. We arrived on the middle of a snowstorm but the driveway was plowed for our entry. - definitely need 4 wheel drive even with the plowing as the weather was absolutely brutal. Once inside they had the floors heated and waiting for us in a warm home. Next day the wind and snow created a snow drift which we shoveled out and then they came and plowed again for us. Even offered to get us groceries if we needs food. Monika was great - excellent wi fi, tv with Netflix and big kitchen. Because of the weather we didn’t get to enjoy the surroundings but you can tell there’s tons of land to explore and enjoy during summer months and the road was well cleared by the time we left. Great choice for families that want to stay someplace different then traditional hotels. Only about 40 minutes from downtown Reykjavik and easy drive.
