A small cozy villa with 2 bedrooms on the mezzanine floor. One double bed and one with 2 single beds. The villa is built on the sandy beach of Marathi a few meters from the sea. A small cafe is attached to the villa. Perfect for people that want everything easy.

Both villas are located in the area of Akrotiri, a large peninsula in Chania, Crete.
Villa Tzivaeri is an old stone Venetian style mansion, with a huge private court yard, partly paved with stone, located in the village of Sternes, 2km from the sandy beach of Marathi and 5 km from the airport.
Villa Marathoula is placed on the sandy beach of Marathi, next to our own small café that we run all season. Only a few steps away from the water!

Fabulous location

Had a wonderful week at Tasoula and Goerge's Marathi Beach accomodation. Their family and staff are absolutely wonderful . Fabulous location , only down side is of the 3 taverna's there only one does evening meal and even that closes by 9-10pm at this time of year . So if you want to go out at night you will have to drive or get a taxi . Taxi to Chania about 25 euro's each way. Other than that had a fabulous time .

Excellent

We spent 10 total days in Greece in August 2018 and the last 3 were at Marathi beach at the villa Marathoula. We went Athens, Santorini, Heraklion and saw so many beautiful places, but Marathi beach was the crown jewel of our getaway. First the location is fantastic if you want to spent few days in the sun. The house is basically on the beach. The Marathi beach is in a gulf, so the sea is protected from waves, algae etc and it is a swimmers paradise, safe for long distance swim if you love to do so and a fisherman's paradise if you enjoy that . Despite the time with a populated beach (it was summer vacation for the Greeks) we enjoined it so much that we canceled all our trips around the area( ...we may come back to do those). Boys went fishing and girls went swimming and all enjoyed the sun, the sea and the food. Secondly the house itself is a very elegant mix of rustic and modern design, small but easily accommodated out family of 4 ( we were traveling with 2 teenage kids). Last but not least are the people owning this house ( Tasoula with her beautiful kids, her husband George, her lovely mother Maria and Dimitri the always smiling father) who did everything to accommodate us. From George picking us up from a nearby town as we got lost, Dimitri who let us "buy" little things from the restaurant but without charging us a penny later, to Maria giving us a hand made wall decoration made by herself. For sure they will always have a place in our hearts and we consider them friends and hope to see all of them again. We hope to be back soon!

A hidden gem that we will never forget

I cannot say enough about how enjoyable our stay was. The property was beautifully decorated, only yards from the pristine beach and lovely warm sea. The owners, their family and the staff in the taverna were so kind and fun, making us feel incredibly welcomed and relaxed. We switched-off for the whole week and just relaxed and enjoyed ourselves in this wonderful gem of a location. Thanks so much.
