Home from Home
Had a fantastic week staying at The Barn @ Yethouse. Just what we needed: peaceful, relaxing and extremely comfortable. Barbara is a fantastic host and extremely helpful. The Barn itself is spacious, comfortable and clean. The garden is spectacular with so many lovely areas to sit out. We made lots of use of the amazing fire pit! And the nightly visits from the cows (behind the wall!) amused us all! We loved everything about it and will definitely be back!

Quiet and peaceful
We had a lovely long weekend here. The property was easy to find with the directions and is lovely and peaceful. Everything we needed had been provided and the property was immaculate. Kielder was a short drive away with plenty of things to do and we also had a day out visiting Carlisle.

About the host

Host profile image
Paul & Barbara have been operating self-catering properties since 2009. We love welcoming visitors to our quiet peaceful place, many return year after year to relax and unwind. We love our four-legged friends and would never leave them behind, Yethouse is perfect for your dog although we are surrounded by livestock, on a lead when appropriate, please.

Why they chose this property

The Barn has been tastefully converted, fully insulated with underfloor heating, and warm throughout the year. The large lounge diner is a delight to sit in and watch the wildlife or sit back with a good book and put your feet up in front of the toasty fire.

The garden is perfect with sunshine basking on it all day so you can enjoy the views, sunrises, and sunsets as well as hear skylark and curlew. A stone's throw from the forest, enjoy stunning walks and verdant scenery from your doorstep, or the thrill of a fast descent on the 7stanes mountain bike trails. Bikes for hire from our local activity centre where you can also book exclusive use of the pool and take on new challenges like archery or kayaking.

What makes this property unique

Far enough away, closer to what matters.

This is what we feel Yethouse conveys when you stay with us; remote, rural away from it all yet cosy, warming, and peaceful equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable.
