About this property

Escape to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains on beautiful Lake James! A stream fed lake which is nestled against Pisgah National Forest and the Linville Gorge area. Perfect getaway to swim, kayak, canoe, fish, boat, hike, bicycle, and explore the nearby mountains. Our home offers a quiet retreat to relax with comfy surroundings and spread out on our 2 decks off the kitchen and living area, or the 3rd deck down by the private covered dock. Enjoy beautiful sunsets by the lake and morning coffee on the deck swing. Morganton is just a 15min drive away and offers a variety of specialty shops as well as restaurants, and breweries, movie theatre, zip lining, and a trail system along the Catawba River. Water equipment, boat and ski jet rentals are available on this lake. We do have 2 kayaks, and a row boat for our guests to use onsite. There are 2 private bedrooms and a loft sleeping area with 2 bunks to sleep 6 people. The hall bath is for the 2nd bedroom and loft, and the master has the washer and dryer hookup. A gas grill is included on the lower section of decking. Just bring your swim suit and sunscreen and jump right in! SORRY, WE ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY DUE TO ASTHMA.

Wonderful Location on Lake James

House was exactly as pictured, well kept, and perfect for a small family. The location on the lake is ideal and very family friendly. Lots of nice touches, like games, ice maker, and welcome gifts. There isn't an indoor dining table, so be aware of that, but the outdoor dining and cooking area is fantastic. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Hot summer relief

The house locking system was easy for weary travelers. Felt totally safe. The steps and landscaping made it easy for my slow moving spouse to get down to the dock. Swam in lake with water noodles, ate outside everyday. Lots of shade and cool air, hardly any bugs. Bones Jones restaurant was so good, very close. Lots of towels and wash cloths. The best.

A Mountain Lake DREAM!

We had the BEST time at The Teepee House! From fishing off the dock, to kayaking, lake swims, and even renting a boat at the Lake James Marina! There was no shortage of adventures and the property was absolutely beautiful.
