Facing southerly on the crest of a hill, with far-reaching countryside views is Skillywiddens holiday cottage – a private and secluded location for families and couples who are looking for a romantic getaway, beach holiday, tranquil retreat or a base from which to explore this beautiful area.

Close by are five gorgeous beaches, three sub-tropical gardens (Trebah, Glendurgan & Penjerrik), the Helford River, Penryn town, Falmouth town w/ Pendennis Castle, boat trips and so so much more!

Skillywiddens is well equipped and provides comfortable accommodation for you to relax and enjoy. With two large sets of sliding doors you can step out onto your own private wrap-around decking to enjoy the views across the wooded valley below and skyline. There is outdoor furniture for ‘alfresco’ dining, BBQ and seating throughout the large enclosed garden.

Morning and evening times cast dramatic long sweeping shadows across the lawns and meadows. The west-facing picture window often fills with a glorious sunset. We have a lovely wildlife pond that can also be viewed from the kitchen window.

Whatever the weather, natural light makes it feel open and airy and perhaps you might just want to stay at home and listen to the sound of quiet Cornwall while just relaxing.

Skillywiddens can be found at the end of a private lane in the small hamlet of Treverva. It offers a real escape and is very private with it's own parking area and entrances. As your hosts we live just next door so the cottage is very well looked after and we are available to help in any way we can to make your holiday as pleasant and enjoyable as possible.

Included is central heating and all other utilities, linens & towels, WiFi/Broadband.
On arrival there is a Welcome Basket - also tea, coffee, sugar and milk. We have tried to think of all the little extras to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

We pride ourselves on our high standards of cleanliness for our guests wellbeing and we thoroughly clean the cottage for every changeover. Standard anti-bac cleaning spray and new fresh cloths will be left for guests to keep surfaces clean & sanitised in the bathroom and kitchen.

Relaxing Holidays

We were warmly welcomed to Skillywiddens by Sarah. A welcome basket was on the kitchen table and a few small things were in the fridge. Skillywiddens is a lovely little holiday home with a fantastic garden. Our daughter had a lot of fun in the pirate nest, with the pirate treasure chest and the other toys. We adults especially enjoyed the great view, the fantastic garden and spent hours watching the birds. The location is ideal: quiet and relaxing but a short distance from Cornwall's attractions and beaches. Everything was perfect. Many thanks to Sarah who made our stay unforgettable.

A Marvellous Stay at "Skillywiddens"

We stayed at “Skillywiddens” from 10th - 17th July 2022 and had a wonderful week. The house is furnished to a very high standard and well equipped, and the large garden (full of birdlife and including an unusual tree house) was a delight as was the extensive view over the attractive valley lying beyond the garden. Owners Sarah and Gerald made us feel very welcome. The house is just a few miles from Falmouth, Helford River and The Lizard peninsula. Coastal walks and beaches are within easy reach. A wonderful Cornish cottage

This property is the most wonderful find. Nestling in a quiet little corner of the beautiful Cornish countryside, the setting is to die for, the house beautifully designed, furnished and appointed. We wanted for nothing during our stay because our hosts had thought of absolutely everything. Our children were delighted with the treehouse in the beautiful, expansive garden and the vast array of books and games. We were delighted with the wonderful welcome basket of local fayre and the marvellous sun-trapping terrace equipped with comfortable sun loungers. Here we not only got to soak up the morning air but also enjoy many an evening of star gazing with the joy of no light pollution. The location has it all. It is close to wonderful beaches, both the Lizard and Lands End, to the well-provided shopping centre of Penryn and to Helford Passage and all that area has to offer. There is no shortage of things to do all within a few miles. This beautiful cottage is genuinely the nicest holiday cottage we've had the pleasure of staying in, and Sarah and Gerald wonderful hosts. Thank you so much. We plan to return soon.
