VILLA GUZEL EV sits in a perfect spot on the stunningly beautiful, well-loved gated Patara Prince Resort. This charming villa has white-washed walls internally and is decorated with interesting artefacts and traditional Turkish touches. It is very comfortable with its indoor, and also outdoor seating on the shaded dining terrace, which comes complete with inbuilt barbecue. At entry level there is a cleverly designed sitting/tv room plus a generous kitchen with open aspect between the two spaces. The curved stairway leads to the sea view master bedroom with ensuite and then guest bedroom with shower room opposite. Views from the villa are a wonderful combination of tropical gardens, rustic red rooftops, the Taurus mountains, a glimpse of the main swimming pool, Kalkan and its harbour across the bay and the twinkling lights of the town and the starry sky at night - simply stunning!! The adjacent hotel terrace means you can choose to walk to breakfast in minutes if you're in totally relaxed holiday mode . Known for its breathtakingly magical gardens the resort boasts 3 lovely pools (1. adult only 2. huge pool for everyone 3. for children), rocky outcrop bathing platforms, direct access to sea swimming, tennis courts with resident coach, a spa, outdoor massage cabana, a mini amphitheatre, 2 bars, several dining options, a shuttle bus which stops at various places such as pool/ sea level and resort entrance/security gate and of course there is the Patara Prince Hotel at its heart. I have owned Guzel Ev for 15 years and it is my Turkish home which I periodically rent. I am also the owner of Ada Manzara Penthouse in the Old Town which is also advertised here. I also used to own Villa Ottoman Garden next to Ada Manzara. I have lived in Kalkan for varying periods of time during the years of my ownership of Guzel Ev and at one point starting in 2008 I ran the Guest Services of The Turquoise Collection from there when I was a Director of the company in its infancy and for several subsequent years spent 7 months of the year in Kalkan. My youngest daughter chose to have her wedding there too so as a family we are fairly well embedded in the town, its life and its people. I love it as much today as I did on my first visit in 2000. When not in Turkey I can be found near the beach in Folkestone, Kent.

Why they chose this property

Club Patara is truly unique, certainly in Kalkan and probably even in other parts of Turkey. It sits on a huge piece of land which has a truly exceptional garden and the way the houses are built into the rocks and merge with all the gorgeous planting is truly beautiful. I never tire of staying there, it is so relaxing! I love to swim and also play tennis so there is lots to do if you want more activity than just lazing and gazing. I love the feel of the house as it reminds me so much of the old style Turkish homes with balconies that had wooden windows and shutters. In the intense heat of summer the cool travertine floors are welcome to bare feet and upstairs the stunning original wood flooring and barrelled ceiling in the master bedroom are beautiful features.
