Lovely stay high up on a cliff
We had a lovely stay at Emma's property. It was situated in a nice, quiet spot with more space around it than normal, which was great for when taking the dog out for a walk. The property felt fresh and more spacious on the inside due to it being only two bedrooms and not three. It is further away from the main building, but if you prefer peace and quiet, this is for you (and we do).
Now, the listing of the property did say that it had very close access to the beach, which is why I booked it, but that was not the case (and I did alert the Vrbo about this afterwards). The access disappeared in a rockfall a few years back and you will have to walk at least 30 minutes to even touch the water's edge. Heading right after a 10-minute walk takes you to a paved path with huge boulders to keep the water away due to coastal erosion. It will eventually take you to a rugged beach with one of the few allowed accesses for dogs. If you head left instead, you end up on a winding path back and forth from the cliff's edge as parts of it is private property. When you eventually get to a path leading down to the water's edge by a golf-course, you find a tiny outcrop with sand and no more as the rest is paved with boulders on one side. It does mean driving to a proper beach unless you are a keen walker with no children. If you have a dog, please check if the beach allows access for the dog as very few beaches do.
All-in-all a pleasant stay with visits to the brilliant nearby pub.
