About this property

Classic Cottage with Mountain View Brewhouse at Glynhir Mansion

Beautiful self catering cottage with spacious sitting room and log fire – 3 bedrooms, sleeps 7.

At the entrance to the farmyard, this beautiful cottage has a sunny and spacious sitting room with a woodstove and piano, with large arched windows looking out onto the traditional farmyard with its many stone outbuildings. Downstairs there is a kitchen, a dining room and a downstairs toilet and upstairs, three bedrooms - a double with a single, a double and one twin, and a bathroom
The Mansion dates from the late 1600's when it was parochial Welsh farmhouse. Since the 1700s it was expanded by a French family who made it the estate it is today. When people hear the word 'estate' they think of stately homes but the family who built it used it as a working farm also forging their own tools and mining their own resources as a totally self-sufficient rural estate. To this day we manage the estate in much the same way with a working farm, traditional orchard and large vegetable garden. On roughly 220 acres we are an ideal location for groups of family or friends who have the option to stay in one of our self-catering cottages situated in a micro-village in the midst of our farm with ducks, geese, chickens, peafowl and pigs. The accommodation is rustic yet comfortable with loads of character.

In the main house we provide bed & breakfast accommodation. There are four spacious double/family bedrooms, two with en-suite bath/shower & toilet and two with en-suite shower & toilet. The lounge boasts a welcoming log fire in the Winter time, a baby-grand piano and a television with DVD player. Tea & coffee is always available. We are situated under a dark sky area so without the drone of urban noises or glaring lights you can be assured of a peaceful night's sleep. Our breakfast menu is traditional British B&B with the heartiest plate portion being the Welsh full breakfast. Breakfast is served from 8am onwards. If you require an earlier breakfast we always have available cereal and toast.

The Glynhir Estate is situated in an ideal location for many family attractions and activites. Activity holidays and breaks in Carmarthenshire, South Wales, UK - riding, walking, painting, fishing, bird watching, pottery, golfing, rambling. Our estate is situated on a gorge at the foot of the Black Mountain and on our property we have an impressive 30ft waterfall accessible via our Victorian woodland walk.

Totally relaxed and refreshed!
Latest of many weekends in the Brew house at Glynhir. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous accommodation, beds were comfy, bedding immaculate, and all in all a totally relaxing stay. Thoroughly enjoyed the walks around the land, from feeding the pigs, to running away from the geese 😂, to watching the beautiful peacocks showing off their stinking colours! Will definitely return in the near future.

Gorgeous Location where children can run around and feel free
We were a group of many families with children aged 3-12 years old. We all stayed in diff houses on the property. The children love the freedom of being able to roam the property.

Wonderful holiday
The weather was perfect so we were able to enjoy visits to the beach and walking in the countryside but even if it had rained the whole time I think we would have had a lovely holiday snuggled in our cottage on this beautiful farm. I am caring for a nine year old girl and this was her first holiday. She absolutely loved it! She was thrilled by all the animals. She made friends with other children and they were free to wander around having adventures.

Relaxing and fun.
We came away as a group of friends, avd grandchildren, for some well needed respite and adventures with the little ones Glynhir did not disappoint! From exploring the land, to our organising "treasure hunts", and mud painting, with hand made paintbrushes (we made using twigs, leaves etc). A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing long weekend was had by all.
