RETRO STYLE cottage - L'inattendu

On the ground floor, it overlooks and is accessible from the garden. It has 2 single beds (90 cm) that can be put together into a king size bed or left apart. Equipped with its own kitchenette, this lodge - about 30 sq.m. - is totally independent. It is equipped to accommodate people with limited mobility. Its vintage decoration will take you back to the colourful atmosphere of the 1980s.
A house of charm and character: In 2018, we fell in love with the former sub-prefecture of the Tarn, in the historic heart of Lavaur, and decided to bring it back to life through a high-end accommodation and restaurant project.

We have restored and embellished the house to offer 6 elegant and spacious rooms from 85€/d, in a restful and pleasant setting in the heart of the town.

This work was carried out with the financial support of the Occitania region.

In the heart of Lavaur, in the land of Cocagne, we open the doors of our guest house, a beautiful 19th century residence.

This private mansion was built in 1830 by Guillaume Daguilhon Pujol, then sub-prefect, to house the sub-prefecture which remained there until the 1920s.

The house is set in an enclosed garden where a superb 400 year old cedar tree reigns supreme. You will be able to rest in its beneficent shade, have breakfast by the pool or read a book in the coolness of our patios, in complete privacy.

Forget the car! The old town, the shops, everything is within walking distance, including the famous Saturday morning market.

Moreover, the guest house is ideally located at an equal distance from Albi, Toulouse and Castres. We are less than 45 minutes by car or train from these major and unmissable sites in the Occitan region. We are only 1 hour from the medieval city of Carcassonne, a must see when visiting the region.

Our stay at L'inattendu was absolutely wonderful.

The owner and team have brought their experience working in luxury resorts all over the world to make a delightful local experience. The food is fresh and amazingly delicious. The gite incorporates locally, quality made products to add to the smallest detail. The rooms are clean and inviting and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is English speaking and friendly. Bravo to L'inattendu for showcasing the best of Lavaur and the Region.

We are very eager to give the possibility to people with limited mobility to stay in a charming house with the people travelling with them.

We therefore have at their disposal, on the ground floor, 2 rooms equipped with a kitchenette. The restaurant and all of the common areas are accessible to wheelchairs.

Pierre Birolini, our 26-year-old chef, has already a rich culinary experience. He is the 3rd generation cook of his family and likes travels and good food.

He has already been around in Spain, Corsica and the Basque Country. He brought back a cuisine with different influences, mixing traditional Basque, Corsican and Occitan dishes with a hint of Nordic flavours (home-smoked products) plus a hint of modernity.
