THINGS TO DO LOCALLY

The lodge looks over onto Mabie Forrest. This beautiful area has so much to offer. As well as the renowned mountain biking, The Galloway Forest Park is the UK’s largest and there are hidden waterfalls, wildlife and lochs and on a clear night it is one of the best places in the western world to view the stars. It also has a great play park for the kids to enjoy.

For foodies this is the land of milk and honey and you can sample some great cuisine at a choice of restaurants across the country.

Castle Douglas is known as The Food Town and you can savour the flavours at an excellent choice of shops.

The New Loch Arthur Farm Shop at Beeswing is just a mile away and offers local home made cheeses and everyday items. Lovely place to visit for a bite to eat.
