Great potential but poor maintenance

The pros: the apartment had a great location and the apartment layout was great. All bedrooms had a bathroom and the rooms and closets were spacious. Also the location was great with nearby store and restaurants in walking distance. the check in process was smooth. First impression: the apartment was not cleaned properly. Bathroom showers were extremely dirty. The master bath had mold on the wall and the shower door railings were filled with mold. The kitchen floor was very dirty too. The host rectified the issue but coming to a dirty apartment is unacceptable. Also, the host should have mentioned that there was construction across the street which went on from early in the morning. Issues: We booked the apartment because it had a washer and a dryer. The washer malfunctioned and it leaked water all over the place. Loads took so long to wash and the dryer didn't dry properly. We lost a whole day waiting for a person to come fix the washer but even after it was "fixed" it was a poor functioning machine. The host needs to replace the machine. Also because the machine didn't have a vent to let the moisture out when the machine ran, the apartment became a sauna when the dryer was in use. The apartment needs better ventilation. And talking about ventilation, the living room had ventilation openings which were covered with cardboard and tape. This is a safety hazard as is no outlet in case there is a gas leak. This could also be the reason for the mold in bathroom and baseboards in the master bedroom. Overall, I don't recommend this apartment. It has a lot of potential but the lack of maintenance resulted in a poor experience. We spent the bulk of our stay addressing issues with the host than enjoying our time in Bogotá.
