Friends reunion
Fantastic spacious place which had all we needed. The fireplace in the living room was great for a cosy evening on the huge sofas. We enjoyed the dining room with a beautiful table and serviettes and table mats for a sophisticated dinner. Kitchen had plenty cutlery, crockery, glasses, and dishes and cooking utensils. Just a tea pot was missing for us. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Just a few glasses and cups that needed a rinse. The kettle looked not right at the bottom so we didn’t use it. But really only a minor point. A folder with lots of useful information and a welcome letter with a nice bottle of wine welcomed us. Herb garden was at our disposal. The house is very spacious. The weather didn’t allow us to use the outdoor space for breakfast which was a real shame. We had a fantastic time!

A beautiful chateau in an amazing location
We all enjoyed this chateau, far reaching views of beautiful countryside. The location was perfect for getting to different areas of Kent. The only thing we missed was wardrobe space in the yellow bedroom, and drawers in the turret room. Toilet brushes need changing hence the 4/5 rating for cleanliness.

About the host

We would like to share our beautiful spacious home with guests, so that they can enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of our location.
We built Le Chateau in 2005 as our family home, with the West Wing for parents, now empty we wanted to let others enjoy our amazing home and surroundings. We still occupy the East Wing which we continue to enjoy (please note that both the East and West Wings are completely independent, including their own entrances), with our plant nursery next door, which certainly keeps us busy! We have a dog and lots of cats who love nothing more than to snuggle up infront of our log burner on a cold, wet Winters day or sunbath on the terrace in the Summer.

Why they chose this property

There is nothing better than enjoying the sounds of our wildlife, whether that be the buzzards flying overhead or the branches snapping in the woods as the deer walk about, coupled with the stunning scenery and the tranquillity of Challock, we often feel like the luckiest people in the world.
We are on the edge of 'Kingwood' which is simply stunning in the Spring with it's carpet of bluebells and if your luck on a leisurely walk you may spot one of it's famous white deer and we're a short walk from the local pub, 'The Stag' who regularly have car meets (including Audi, Porsche, mini and many more) all accompanies with good food, wine and beer.
Located in the heart of Kent, we are close to so many attractions including, Leeds, Hever, Dover and Deal Castle, Zoos including Port Lympne, Howletts, Wingham WildLife Park, Ashford Designer Outlet, if you fancy a bit of shopping. Chartham, Chapel, Westwell Vineyard (there are just too many to list) and so much more, your rather spoilt for choice!

What makes this property unique

The appearance of our home was designed by our architect, a very long time ago now, based on a French Chateau and we just love it, you won't find anything like it locally and some days it feels like you could be anywhere in the world.
The West Wing is amazingly spacious with high ceilings and classic decor, it has private, off road parking (behind gates), perfect for all cars (sports, family or otherwise).
