Clean, spacious, relaxing and beautiful setting.
Our group had the most lovely stay as guests of Kevin. We enjoyed the space, the comfort and the hospitality and the chef prepared delicious Scottish food throughout our stay. Outdoors we enjoyed exploring the glorious countryside and seeing deer, stags and red squirrels around us. A truly relaxing and memorable stay.

Hunting Chateau
This is a lovely hunting chateau. Needs a refresh. Some of the mattresses are a bit old, showers are missing parts, need instruction on how to work tv, internet is spotty as it is isolated.

A stunning castle great for groups who want to escape to the highlands
We had a fantastic time at Dalnaglar Castle. Communication through the booking process was seamless and the team were always prompt when replying to messages. Helen and Rob were lovely and made us feel so welcome. The castle itself is beautiful - equipped with board and lawn games, a tv, and everything you could need in the kitchen plus so much communal space. The dining room was especially beautiful. Safe to say our group was very happy with our stay at Dalnaglar - I'd recommend it to anyone!

A Fairy Tale Wedding Venue
Our daughter and son-in-law held their wedding at Dalnaglar Castle Estate and it was amazing! We had a total of 32 people travel from the United States to Scotland and stay at the castle and cottages for 5 days. We had the space to spread out as well as the castle to gather and socialize. The castle was perfect for the bride, groom, and wedding party while the cottages allowed extra space for the families and wedding guests to stay on site as well as one cottage to accommodate our amazing caterer, Aggie, and her crew from Heavy Metal Munchies. The wedding ceremony was held outdoors with Dalnaglar Castle as the backdrop. It was magical! A true fairy tale wedding venue. The Reception Room became the gathering space before group outings and hikes in the area as well as the puzzle room. The Library provided a space for the groom and groomsmen to get ready before the wedding, while the bride and bridesmaids utilized the Castle Suite with its own sitting room and private bathroom. The Kitchen was used by us for self-catering as well as the caterers for preparing our wedding feast. We used the Breakfast Room for, well, breakfast since that was more of an eat when you’re ready type meal. The Dining Room with its huge dining room table and buffet provided a magnificent space for appetizers, champagne and scotch wedding toasts, and the fabulous wedding dinner. The table is grand! We were able to seat 22 around the table, albeit, a little tightly, and another 10 around the breakfast table. The Drawing Room was warm and cozy with the fireplace with plenty of seating for games and conversation. It also served as the dance floor following dinner. Planning a wedding from so far away without seeing the venue in person is a very daunting task; however, Helen and Anna were very responsive to my numerous questions. Helen even spent nearly two hours with me on the phone talking me through the castle layout so we could better understand the space, utilize it effectively, and make sure our guests were accommodated in the best rooms, helping to put my mind at ease. In the end, everything came together flawlessly. The castle grounds and surrounding area were great for hiking or, as it’s referred to in Scotland, hill walking, which allowed us to get out and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We all have very fond memories of our time together at Dalnaglar Castle Estate that we will cherish for our entire lives. We can highly recommend it as a gathering spot for an event such as ours.

Highly recommend - a winter wonderland break
18 of us stayed in Dalnaglar Castle over the new year. It was 100% one of the best family trips we have had because of the location, the facilities, the wonderful support from Helen and Rob and the overall beauty of the Castle. It is a wonderful location, lots of walks direct from the door, dog friendly and full of beautiful scenery. Every room had character & charm, beautiful and comfortably decorated and everything was designed for at least 20 people. Perfect. And a huge thanks to Helen and Rob for being so helpful in both the planning of the trip and in the execution.
