Woodside takes its name from the woodland beside the property, steps lead up from the garden to your balcony by the entrance where you can take in the views over the garden and the trees beyond. With a table and seating on the balcony, this is a perfect tranquil spot to soak up your surroundings. Stepping inside the property it has been carefully furnished throughout. The owner is a quilt maker and there are carefully hand-crafted scatter cushions and throws throughout, as well as hand-crafted decorative pieces adorning the walls, making this a unique and inspiring place to stay. The colours and themes have been carefully chosen to embrace your surrounding scenes of nature. The kitchen which is well equipped and ready for you to create all of your favourite home cooked meals. The living room is open plan with the dining area and there are window seats in the bay window so that you can enjoy the views. The bedroom has twin beds, making this perfect for friends travelling together and the shower room has a shower cubicle. Woodside is an annexe attached to the owners home who has been welcoming guests for many years and is sure to offer a warm welcome.
Scarborough’s North Bay is less than 4 miles away, with Ravenscar, Robin Hood’s Bay and Whitby along the coast to the north and Filey, Flamborough and Bridlington to the south. Making this an ideal base for those looking to enjoy Yorkshire’s glorious coastline. Woodside is located on a hidden cul-de-sac just between the villages of Claughton and Burniston. Both have friendly local pubs serving freshly cooked meals and quaint post office in Burniston. A little further along is Hayburn Wyke, a woodland walk with a waterfall cascading over the cliff top onto a secluded cove. There is an 18th century coaching inn here, serving hearty meals as well as tasty desserts, so why not treat yourself to some food after a busy day of exploring. The Cleveland Way and the Cinder Track are scenic walking trails nearby, where you can take in the incredible views as you visit some of the prettiest towns and villages along the coast. At Bempton Cliffs and neighbouring Flamborough you will see thousands of nesting seabirds including gannets and colourful puffins. If you look carefully down into the sea you will see seals peering back at you as they bob in the waves. On the moorland you have beautiful red grouse as well as hundreds of pheasants who look incredibly elegant as they take to the air when startled by walkers. Watch the skies for buzzards and owls, and on sunny days you may spot basking adders. The North Yorkshire Moors National Park has some delightful little villages amongst the vast stretches of heather strewn hills and valleys. There is also the ancient Dalby Forest which has brilliant cycle and walking trails to be explored, as well as zip wires through the trees if you are feeling adventurous. Enjoy the great outdoors and take in your surroundings whilst having a welcoming and cosy base to return to, making your holiday one to treasure.
