About this property

Cornwall Farmhouse, Pencelli. Large 5 bedroom house up on a Beacon sleeping 10.

A very spacious and cosy farmhouse within the National Park at the end of a private track. Only 10 minutes walk from the Brecknockshire CAMRA pub of the year, beautiful church with ancient yews and the canal with gorgeous tow path. The farmhouse is surrounded by lawns and has tremendous views down the valley to Pencelli, Brecon and the Black Mountains. The large stone patio is great for barbecues and overlooks sheep fields.

Good value Type 2 electric car fast-charging is available at the village hall car park in Talybont-on-Usk, fed from solar panels and operated by tokens from the local store. CHAdeMO and CCS rapid-chargers are available at the Morrisons supermarket in Brecon.

We are proud to use Baavet bedding; sleep cosy in Welsh wool duvets made in Wales. Other bedding is also available.

Dogs are not allowed by covenant but the nearby Buckland Hill kennels are excellent.

Access is via an unmade track which can be bumpy and is steep in places, so not suitable for very low cars.

"Gorgeous cottage stunning location, lots of room " 5*s, August 2021

"We had a lovely holiday with 10 people at Cornwall farm. The house had everything we needed and was very clean. The views are beautiful from the house and patio. We enjoyed walks from the doorstep down to the river and canal. We would highly recommend staying here. " 5*s, August 2021

"Absolutely amazing house; The pictures on the website do not do the place justice. You are surrounded by green space as far as the eye can see with sheep for neighbours. The house is warm and bright, with a beautiful garden. We were a group of 10 and it still felt like we had space in the house. The owners were so helpful and responded so quickly to any questions we had. I cannot recommend enough; We will definitely be returning;" 5*s, July 2021

Great place in a tranquil setting
The directions to the location are spot on, and the farmhouse is set in a beautiful area, away from everyone, great views of hills and horses etc. The house itself is extremely spacious, well-equipped and even has working wifi! Would highly recommend if you want a trip to this area as it's a fantastic base for various activities.

About the host

Having known it since we were children, we bought Cornwall Farmhouse when our own children were small so that they could spend time in the outdoors and learn about countryside life. One is now a farmer. We have always wanted to share our house with others who would fall in love with it as we have, especially as we can’t be there all the time.

Why they chose this property

We wanted this specific house since the 1970s. Off grid but not too remote, it sits astride a path up to the beacons that few tourists take. You can see across the valley, looking down on the hills and fields. Looking up is the impressive Beacon, The Bryn. And less than 10 minutes walk through a field and a flower filled lane is the bustling, thriving Royal Oak pub with a wonderful welcome and wholesome food.

What makes this property unique

Quiet. Stars. Views. Air. Wildlife.
