About the property
Esk View is a spacious cottage with an open-plan living area that's perfect for family and friends to relax, socialise or celebrate a special occasion. Highlights include a lovely log burner and the most incredible, far-reaching views over the Esk Valley and North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This is the ideal place to completely chill out and enjoy the gentle pace of country living. You'll be greeted by the smell of freshly baked bread – a complimentary loaf is provided, while for a slice of the local life, there's a lovely pub and village shops within a 10-minute walk. Meanwhile, the town of Whitby is just a short drive away and makes a great day out on the coast.
The space
The open-plan living area, comprising the lounge, kitchen and dining spaces, is the hub of the home and the place to gather to enjoy time all together.
Take the weight off your feet and unwind on the plush sofas and if the weather is miserable, why not light the log burner to get extra cosy? If you fancy a tipple, for your convenience, there's even an honesty bar.
With a music system accessed via the iPad with complimentary Apple music, WiFi, a Smart TV with Netflix and a DVD and book library, there's plenty to keep you entertained.
The kitchen has windows that frame the North Yorkshire Moors and is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, dishwasher and there's even a breadmaker. Meanwhile, the Wedgewood crockery and Royal Doulton glassware, will make the dining table look beautiful for every meal.
French doors lead from the living area out to the glazed balcony furnished with a table and chairs and a BBQ so that you can dine alfresco while admiring the incredible views. Wildlife, including deer and partridges, can often be seen too.
There are three bedrooms. The master bedroom occupies the entire top floor and has a king-size bed, plus a freestanding bath in the bedroom and an en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms are on the first floor, one with a king-size bed and the other is a twin room (with zip and link beds that can be set up as a super-king-size bed if preferred). All bedrooms have a wall-mounted TV and a hairdryer.
There is also a walk-in shower room on the first floor. Both bathrooms have a heated towel rail and Elemis toiletries. In addition, there is a ground-floor cloakroom with WC and basin.
You'll also find a host of thoughtful touches including umbrellas, binoculars and torches that you are welcome to borrow during your stay.
