Summary:
The Colour House is a one-bedroom apartment found in the bustling historic Lake District town of Kendal. The large characterful suite can be found on the bottom floor of the beautiful Georgian Grade ll listed house can be found tucked away in a quiet corner of the centre of town - the one-bed, one-bathroom apartment is the perfect sport for a getaway for two!
The Space:
The apartment has a large, open-plan living room with kitchen (28 x 21’), comfortable double bedroom and a modern, private shower room all for your exclusive use during your stay at the Colour House. WIFI is available.
The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essential items needed to make the most of the space during your stay. Within the kitchen, the Smeg fridge has a small freezer compartment (ice cubes included!), Nespresso coffee machine and Aeroccino milk frother. Upon arrival, you will find a good selection of black teas, herbal teas and lots of coffee pods for the coffee machine.
In the bathroom, shampoo, conditioner, soap and toilet paper are available. The bathroom hosts a walk-in shower, toilet and skink. Towels are provided and can be found in the bedroom along with a hairdryer. Also available are an iron and ironing board, universal travel adapter and hot water bottles.
In the open plan sitting area there is a 32” Smart HD TV and digital radio. You will also find a good array of books, leaflets and maps that you are welcome to use during your stay. Along with games such as Scrabble, playing cards, Jenga, Monopoly and Cards Against Humanity
Guest Access:
The main access to the Colour Works is a shared entry. Although the apartment is part of a residence, it is both private and self-contained with its own stairway access so you can come and go as you please during your stay.
Stay connected with 910Mb WIFI and fibre broadband access offered to guests at Colour House.
Parking is on street parking, or assigned parking where directed. The small road in to Colour House is private, the largest vehicle size able to park here is approximately up to the side of a VW Camper, anything larger would need to park slightly out on the street.
The Neighborhood:
Kendal Main Street can be found a short stroll away, there is a great range of things to do including, local shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes just to name a few.
The nearby Westmorland Shopping Centre hosts a wide range of shops and an indoor market - while the Shopping Centre is open seven days a week, the indoor market is closed on Sundays.
The Kendal Farmers Market is one of the oldest farmers markets in the country, hosted in the Market Place on the last Friday of each month. The market is a great stop for local products and excellent locally sourced food.
Getting Around:
Oxenholme (Oxenholme Lake District) is the nearest train station, located a short 5-minute drive away.
The nearest bus stop is a 5-minute walk away at the Town Hall stop with regular stops from the 44, 46, 570 and, 571 routes.
The Kendal Bus and Coach Station can also be found a 10-minute walk away at the Westmorland Shopping Centre.
There are a number of reliable local taxi services available within the area.
Other Things to Note:
We are pet friendly! Please note that we ask that all pets are small, well-behaved pets as the building is home to permanent residents and continuous barking/noise through the evening/occupancy is not only not appreciated but in extreme cases may result in a noise penalty. We respectfully ask that pets are not left unattended, are grateful for responsible pet owners! Thank you for your understanding!
