About this property

Traditional yet contemporary country cottage

Slackbrae has been beautifully completely renovated and has an open-plan fully equipped kitchen, dining, and living area. The Scandi-Scot interior has a Nordic fireplace and bespoke birch plywood. The house lies at the centre of our 420 ha (1000 acre) Estate and has a wonderful private garden with new blooms every month and a patio area with a BBQ firepit.

Slackbrae has been lovingly restored to maintain a traditional cottage on the outside while inside vaulted ceilings (4m high), skylights a-plenty and floor to ceiling triple-glazing create a space of great calm matched by the quiet woodland location.

Renovated using traditional materials such as red clay roof pantiles and brightly coloured lime renders sustainability is at the core of this cottage with birch, elm and beech joinery throughout as well as Amy Britton contemporary tweeds and sheepskin throws inside.

". . . environmentally designed, a smart home with long clean lines, wide open space, huge windows bringing the light and the outside in, (sheepskin) throws, a sense of arts and crafts in the decor, a roaring modernist fire." Neil MacKay, The Herald, 2021.

The best holiday home ever!
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We did not want to leave! The accommodation was out of this world in every way. It is a real hidden gem of a place and we felt very spoilt to stay somewhere so lovely. From the delicious local produce in the breakfast hamper to the peace and quiet of the surroundings, combine this with the fantastic equipment, attention to detail and top class fixtures everything was brilliant. Every minute we spent here was an absolute joy......Perfect!
