Clean and convenient, just needs some thoughtfulness
We enjoyed our 8-night stay as a family of 6. The place was clean and comfortable for us. However this is one of those places I would recommend the owner stay in with his own family for a week to see just how many things are missing or really inconvenient. When we’re spending thousands of pounds to rent the place, we don’t feel like we should have to go out and buy our own (large packages of) things like garbage bags (there was not even one in the bin when we arrived), dish detergent, dish soap, laundry detergent, salt and pepper, hand soap in the bathrooms, hand towels for the bathrooms, etc. There wasn’t even enough toilet paper provided for our entire stay. Aside from that there were so many things the place is missing, like towel hooks, a laundry drying rack, a broom, extra chairs (to accommodate at the table as many as beds would accommodate), bath mat, kitchen supplies like a strainer for pasta, a spatula, a fry pan, more than one kitchen towel, hot pads, etc. On top of that there were just annoying things like a bedside lamp that couldn’t reach the outlet, no outlets in the bathroom at all, and tiny mirrors in the bathroom placed over the toilet so difficult to make use of.
The owners purchased a couple of the items we needed when we requested, but like I said—they should try living there themselves before renting it out again, just to understand what it feels like to be a renter here. A little thoughtfulness goes a long way.
