About this property

Rose Cottage is located in the heart of Exmoor National Park at Wheddon Cross. Dog friendly

Rose Cottage is one of 6 cottages converted from the original farm buildings in 1989. It is situated in Exmoor National Park and within walking distance (across the fields) of Wheddon Cross with a pub, village shop and petrol station. Within easy driving distance of local attractions: 7 miles from the medieval village of Dunster and Dunster Castle, Porlock and Tarr Steps, 9 miles from the beach & West Somerset Steam Railway.
Our cottages are set within 18 acres of our own grounds comprising gardens and fields with private access to a bridlepath and footpaths. There's a huge BBQ, picnic tables and a sunny south facing terrace - perfect for a cup of tea or early evening G & T! We also have a barn with table tennis, small pool table, table football & board games. Groups are also welcome to use the barn to eat together.
Enjoy our lovely homemade Somerset cream tea once you have settled in.

Rose Cottage faces east with views across the gardens. You have your own fenced garden area with outdoor furniture. The lounge area has two sofas, one seating three people and the other seating two. There’s also a pine dining table and chairs, stone fireplace with a cast iron electric fire, 32″ TV with SKY Freeview and DVD player, two radiators. The kitchen area has pine units and is well equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, electric cooker, ample pots and pans. Dishwasher powder, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, tea towels and soap powder are supplied.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms leading off the landing. One is a double and the other a twin. Beds are made up for your arrival with fresh cotton bed linen. The landing, bathroom and bedrooms all have radiators. The bathroom has a bath and shower over. Towels and loo rolls are provided.
The cottage has gas central heating throughout.

Two dogs are welcome in Rose Cottage. Please ask them to not to go upstairs or onto the furniture. There is a £15 charge per dog per stay which will be added to your booking confirmation after you book on the Vrbo website.
There is an unfenced pond in the grounds so small children should be supervised.
Note: There aren't any bicycles here despite what it says under amenities - there's a bug in the system which Vrbo is invesigating. You are very welcome to bring your own, however, and we can supply a key to our sheds so you can lock them away.

About the host

Host profile image
We bought Little Quarme Cottages in 2016 and set about renovating the rather tired accommodation which we are now proud of. We live in a separate farm-house on site so are on hand if you have any queries or would like information about the local area.
We speak some French and German.

What makes this property unique

Little Quarme offers spectacular south facing views over the Quarme Valley. It's rural and peaceful but within walking distance (across the fields) of our local pub The Rest and Be Thankful.
